I'm guilty of using setlist.fm on a couple occasions to re-familiarize myself with some songs for upcoming shows or to see if one of my favorites will be played. :?

Voivod gets a :headbanger: from me. They kicked ass on the Kreator tour and seem like fun dudes to hang out with on the boat. Damn friendly Canadians!

    my favorites are

Watershed (Hessian Peel RULES) (I have Watershed on vinyl!)

Scott - interesting....I picked Blackwater Park and Still Life as my faves... I think picking a favorite Opeth album (or in my case my fave Porcupine Tree, Rush, Yes, Dimmu Borgir, or Pain of Salvation album) is similar to picking one's favorite child - I really love all of them - not a dud in the bunch! (and yes...Hessian Peel is killer - especially love Heir Apparent too!)

So....Opeth's Still Life for example. How do I love thee? Let me count the ways....
Godhead's Lament: starting at around 4:50 - so amazing - I picture Mikael as a medieval troubadour of sorts singing these haunting lyrics....
Thought I could not leave this place
    On this imminent day
As I've reached the final dawn
    To what's gone astray
What would they care if I did stay
    No-one would know
What would they care if I did stay
    No-one should know

    Etc.,etc.,etc.,etc...

And Damnation - clearly one of the greatest albums of all time imo!
And at the risk of sounding morbid and morose.....the 3 albums I'd like to hear on my deathbed are (if by chance I knew my death was imminent and I had a choice in the matter)...
Porcupine Tree: The Sky Moves Sideways
    Ulver: Shadows of the Sun
    Opeth: Damnation

I don't have any real strong feelings either way to this announcement. I want them to hurry up and finish announcing so they can show the line up and when bands are playing. So I can see what bands I might check out twice. Also does anyone know if they all play twice will most or any bands switch up there setlists?

this will definitely depend on the band and the length of the time slots; a band like blind guardian who's touring right now with 25+ songs rehearsed will definitely play two different setlists

Saw voivod this summer,, they played older Thrash stuff,, not their death metal era.

It's kind of sad that we know all of the bands before they are announced.

Being from Ottawa, and hearing it from a band here concerning Annihilator, I wouldn't be surprised if it's true, the source seemed pretty decent.

On the bright side, they never play Ottawa since they wouldn't even get 20 people to the show, so I'm kind of excited to see them finally.

just came back from some friends who can enjoy some metal from time to time.
they were seriously considering to go to, but they have a newborn and they have a good responsebility ahhmmm indicator

however, I was talking about this super duper awesoon have-to-be-there ubertop event :-)

they read the red marked line somewhat different then I did:

Remember that mysterious man from the woods of Canada that went with the other German Scouting party? In Berlin he bumped into another Canadian and a real Berliner! In what country will they find the last member to complete the line-up of this new band?

why does and stand out? well perhaps it's not a 3 man band..... make me more and more curious who the members of this new band are.

will they be the last to be annouched or what?!

i know this will cost me some sleep tonight

Nobody seems to be able to corroborate the source of this Cradle Of Filth info, so you can just add that one to the rumor pile.

As for the Symphony X one that Warrel from Nevermore supposedly leaked recently, I think what he leaked to the public was the fact that they're doing a U.S. tour with them in the Spring (before the tour was announced), and someone mistook for a cruise confirmation. However, I wouldn't be opposed to them being added.

It's getting down to the wire, and soon enough we'll know the rest.

The Cradle Of Filth rumour came from here:
    http://www.last.fm/festival/1410932+70000+Tons+of+Metal
I do not however trust Last.fm enough to say that they are confirmed, but this does lead to some strong speculation. If it is true then there is a good chance that Turisas will be on too because they are on tour together.

I had the first dream last night for months that I can remember, and it was not exactly a nightmare, but it was close. All remaining bands were confirmed at the same time - there was a solo project by the guy from Stone Temple Pilots (don't even listen to them, don't know if it exists), a female folk singer from Alaska, and I can't even remember who else. Big wtf.

Good point and I hope that's the case. I would normally chalk it up to Warrel being drunk and being more focused on his own upcoming tour, but didn't he stop drinking a few years ago :? :? :?

Yeah, I reluctantly agree, I doubt Symphony X will have wrapped up work on the new album by then and the tour w/ Nevermore et al doesn't start till spring. So I think they will be to busy working like mad to finish up the new album in January to take time to do anything fun... I HOPE LIKE HELL I AM PROVEN WRONG THOUGH.

another great thing about 70,000 Tons is the tour "halo effect" it is having for shows early next year. So many of the bands playing the cruise are also touring before and after. I just realized that my calendar is seriously spilling over with shows in Los Angeles Dec-Feb, and that, as I see it, is a very god thing. :heavydrink:
Disaster Area: a plutonium rock band from the Gagrakacka Mind Zones, are generally held to be not only the loudest rock band in the history of the Galaxy, but the loudest noise of any kind at all.

Dimmu Borgir has been on all of my wish lists for the cruise line-up....anyone think they might still be a likely add? I used to think so, but now I have my doubts. Anyway, I know quite a few of us are seeing them already on their current tour. :beerhorns:

 I'm guessing i've posted at least a dozen diferent cruise line-up wish lists on various threads including this one ;)
In addition, I think I've typed the word Wacken here at least a few hundred times, with the word Opeth running a close second. :trashdrink: :P

@ Debb: definitely go to see Dimmu Borgir!
