Is this some weird Canadian thing ? How can a Health Spending Account pay for a vacation ? Unless of course this is a spending account that you place money aside tax free and can use for anything under the sun ?
Its provided with my insurance benefits through my employer, same with all of the other employers that I have had in Canada (maybe it is a Canadian thing
On top of your basic coverage - health, dental etc. You are given $1,000.00 in Flex Credits per year. You can use these flex credits towards one of the following:
- to upgrade your health plan
- Health Care Spending Account (non taxable - health costs that perhaps your plan only covers some of like nursing, contacts/glasses, dental etc)
- towards RRSP or your tax free savings account
- Personal Spending Account - expenses that improve your health, well being and piece of mind ex. gym equipment, flights, computers, mp3 etc etc. I definitely noticed CRUISES on that list
We may be cold as hell here but we have our perks
