As a first-timer going with a bunch of veterans, I'm pretty much along for the ride.

By the way…has anyone ever gone for a day trip to the everglades from Miami? Is that doable this time of year?

I've been to the Everglades before the cruise twice. If you have a rental car and the time, definitely do it. There are several different parks in the Everglades. I've been to the one where Gator Boys is filmed, it's in Ft Lauderdale area. It's not bad, but I enjoyed the other one I went to much more. The other one is just outside of Homestead, FL and a bit of a drive south of Miami. I believe it was called Shark Island park or something like that. You can rent a bike and go down a nature path which has gators just sitting around by the road, which was really cool. I got lots of great picks (with a zoom lens) as well. I'd suggest planning a day for it though. Leave early, so you can get there in time to rent a bike. Leave early enough to allow some time to stop by the Coral Castle thing. It's right off the highway that goes back to Miami and is pretty neat.

Really good advice, thanks! If I'm not extremely hung over on Saturday after the cruise I should have time for this, otherwise I'll just nap on the beach and try to drink water…hahaha

Not been before no, missed it in 2011 last I was in Tampa, no idea what the cost is.
Steph said she'd gladly go with me, so I'm guessing it is worth it

Totally worth the price, quick que not necessary this time of year, all day dining totally worth it. I will be back.

I really liked Orbweaver and Made of Metal last year, so I'll definitely try to get on time to see the local bands.
