Usually UMC starts at Hellfest in France. This year it's 19-21 June

I don't know about that,just got the SOOOOOOON from Andy about booking codes ;but will this be total blind booking this year?I can see that happening,just because he can get a get idea how many people are hooked and trust him.If sales are too slow ,then he start announcing bands,and that is the contest.

We will definitely get bands before booking codes - probably both on the same day though.

And I would be surprised if we get any less than 10 bands initially.

By my calculations we have 20 days until its the longest we've had to wait for initial bands (or to be more exact, the shortest amount of time remaining to departure date).

For the 2013 cruise we had to wait until 27 June 2012 - 215 days before departure.

Very true!!

As someone mentioned, some of the more popular bands like Sabaton and Helloween are already ruled out.

Given the amount of negativity surrounding the way bands have been announced for the last 2 cruises I'm HOPING that UMC are working hard to provide an initial lineup that is going to blow everyone away.

Because otherwise, there are many more possibilities open - Wacken Cruises, Full Metal Mountain, the guitar shredders cruise, the slightly-heavier-than-previous Monsters of Rock cruise (plus the West Coast MOR cruise).

Speaking personally - if I don't at least get 2 bands from my signature wishlist in the first run of bands announced, I won't be booking initially.

I'm with all you people - Last year, with drinks and expenses and currency conversions I spent like 2500 CDN on the trip. It'll be so much more this coming year, I REALLY need some good bands announced. My friends are telling me otherwise, but there's so much more I can do with that kind of cash than spend a week on a boat.

I complained a lot on the forum last year but - surprise - I had an amazing time on the 2015 boat (my first).

This year I'm not going to complain because somehow they consistently manage to pull an extraordinary event out of whatever chaos happens in the lead-up. Until UMC produces a bad event, I'm going to go on assuming that the next one will be just as good as the last one.

I know it's not perfect for everyone, and I know complaining is part of the 70K forum culture, but whatever. I can't wait to see my people again next year.

But seriously, Andy, where are the band announcements and booking codes?

I would be okay with this. If they sent out book codes on Feb 15 (just a date out of my ass) and then announced roughly five bands a month would it really make a difference then if they sent out the codes August 4th and then announced 10 bands a month? To me it makes no difference, I'm still going to go. I see no reason to be pissed because they haven't made any announcements or sent out the codes. Especially the latter as it gives me more time to come up with the funds.
