I'd love to see them again; they were great on the boat and splendid at PPUSA.
I've heard this rumour but haven't seen where it comes from... is someone teasing the tour?
I was wondering the same as well. Have heard this rumor several times but have never seen anything official or directly from the band themselves. Only thing I remember reading a while ago was that they were in the process of changing to a new booking agency and were hoping that they would be able to organize a full North American tour for Under the Red Cloud.
My fingers are crossed that the rumors are true and that a Toronto show is part of the plans. Would love to finally see Amorphis live and would really really like to see them added to the 2017 lineup of 70K as well!

There is nothing officially announced yet because the tour is still at the planning stage. So unless promoters are fucktards and don't book them, we should finally have our tour, Canada included. Yay! ETV were a little quick to tease this, because it's not happening before early next year.

New Album.. tour starts right after the cruise.. been on 70K before..

I don't think the drummer is in another band...
With their new album out in August, this could be fun. Really liked them on the boat in 2015.

That tour is in Germany, so this is more likely to rule Freedom Call out, sadly.
Phoenix wrote:So... SCAR SYMMETRY. They told fans that they were asked for 2015 but couldn't do it due to babbies. They're doing a mini tour to coincide with Prog Power USA in the fall, missing most of Western Canada and the United States. I asked about it on Facebook and they responded saying they're coming back early 2017 to hit those places they missed.
They could easily do 70k during that time frame...

Fixed!

Come on Andy, book a Celtic Frost, Bathory, Dissection tour!

I would appreciate Combichrist or Allegaeon as well.

PREDICTIONS
Amaranthe - said "maybe next year" when asked about 2014. Were almost on in 2015 but negotiations fell through.
...
Equilibrium - drummer said 'c u there!' to Linnea of Therion when she announced they were on.
....
Gravedigger. Tourdates announced with a 70K-sized hole in them.
....
Moonsorrow - told a cruiser they would be on broad for 2016
....
Scar Symetry - wanted to be on previously but could not due to impending birth in a band members' family.
....
Serenity - cruiser spoke to them pre-2015. They said they hope to be on broad
...
Unleashed - very evasive when asked about the cruise.

Oooh, yes, starting 2/14, juicy dates. Plus Overkill has a new album out in November.

Overkill isn't necessarily a sure thing since they are after all American. This link seems to say that Overkill is starting in Philly. That's not much a distance from Jersey. Although I wouldn't mind adding another legit thrash band on the cruise. The more thrash the better for me.
