Nightwish is supposed to be taking the entirety of 2017 off. I wouldn't make that leap, especially since Floor has said she has no interest in doing a combined tour. (Of course, there was that whole thing with Nightwish being tagged in Kamelot's Instagram post...)

Running Wild makes the most sense. Nautically themed, most requested R on the wishlist, and relatively popular (unlike my preference, Raunchy). Riot and Refuge are also conceivable having done the cruise before. I could definitely see ReVamp, though, since I suspect Floor will devote some time to her own band with Nightwish idle. The only other ones that jump out at me are Rhapsody, who was on this year, and Rammstein, who as you said is too big.

EDIT: Actually, Revocation is a possibility. Haven't announced anything really heavy in a while.

I didn't know much from Moonsorrow but then I saw them on the 2012 cruise and they were fantastic. I remember them being very melodic and had some solid black metal parts. I enjoyed it very much and plan on catching a set or two next year even though I haven't really listened to them since.

Would be another zero setter for me if it is Running Wild...

I'm betting that it's going to be Running Wild. They "liked" the 70K Facebook page last year....probably when they were in negotiations to be on for 2017.....70K is no longer there in the Running Wild "liked by this page" list but they were before if I remember correctly.

I don't think I ever realized how few bands I like that begin with the letter "R". Rooting for Royal Thunder, though I seriously doubt it will be them.

Moonsorrow!Enough with these goods bands already,how will I see them all.That being said Rage with LMO where one of the few best things about 2013 I have never seen before ,so that would be awesome.And the bigger boat means more room on the indoor stage (I assume),the string bands prefer the indoor environment for their instruments.

I wouldn't expect LMO to be on with Rage if they are booked. Now that Victor Smolski has left the band, they've seemingly returned to a more barebones sound. They aren't playing anything from that era live any longer except for 'Down.' They are mostly playing 80's and 90's material right now, as well as the new album.

My money would be on Rage or Riot V.

I would lose my shit if it was Running Wild though.

Revocation and Cannibal Corpse are touring with Nile and Suffocation this summer, so they're definitely possible.

Rage by themselves would be a good add also ,didn't know they just put a new album out.Listening to "The Devil Strikes Again" ,and it sounds good.Quite a few bands with very recent releases this year ,Rage seems like a good bet.Getting these bands in time for me to catch up on recent releases is a plus also.

Congrats to Moonsorrow for being announced before the beach party the night before the cruise...this time.

It's odd how few (relatively) "R" metal bands there are. Running Wild would be awesome as would Revocation, but I'm expecting Rage or Riot V. Red Harvest would be nifty, but unexpected.

Gotta say, I'm enjoying the steady stream of band announcements this year. Now for the announcement of the public on-sale date, and the announcement of Amon Amarth right before it.....

I think public sales is being delayed because of technical difficulties. I got my booking code last Saturday and haven't been able to pay because there's a problem with accounting and whatever company they are using. So they are probably trying to fix that first.

2017 is seeing a much wider spread of genres:

2016 was much more concentrated around a few genres:

Rage is more than likely...

Peavey loves this cruise and they want to make the new line up familiar with the world wide fans.

LMO is currently on hold and it will take long to revitalize this project.

Anyway I would embrace Peavey no matter with which band or project!

Pretty much, yes... and the new album. Seem to be pretending the Smolski era never happened, with the exception of 'Down.'
