Wow! I had no idea about the drinking on the beach. Now it all makes sense. I'm sure I can find a ride to the party if I decide to do that and maybe I will go with Miami in 2018.
Dorthy (the person who works very hard to put this on every year) moved it to Miami this year for several reasons
1. There was always a large contingent of cruisers who for international flight reasons, preference, whatever stayed in Miami anyway
2. Fort Lauderdale has a strict no alcohol on public beaches rules that Miami does not. This led to people being searched before entering the private beach area by the hotel..people did not like that
3. There was always a very vocal continent of people that wanted to go back to Miami. Largely for the two reasons listed above
So she was hoping that with the move to Miami, we could make everyone happy, and all gather there.
I actually prefer Fort Lauderdale, but want to be where the action is, so I have booked a room at the Clevelander. I would encourage everyone to rally there. The whole point of moving it to Miami is to cut down on splitting up the 70,000 tons crowd across two locations.
Of course we can't make everyone happy, and we will all meet up on this ship anyway.

I always hated the fact that they moved the cruise there and don't know the reason for doing so. I just heard some things that the port of Miami cannot handle a ship that size or some shit like that.
