    Why not?

I would probably not wear a shirt with blood drenched body parts all over it if I'd go to the bank to get a loan. But if you go shopping, why wouldn't you wear a metal shirt if you feel comfortable wearing it in other places?

It will be January so the weather could be "iffy". As someone who lives in Florida and has taken a cruise to the caribbean in January, I suggest bringing 1 or 2 pairs of pants and a light coat as it could get cold at night. I had on a fleece sweater for 4 out of the 7 days while outside.

    Hope that helps :deathmetal:

No problem. Weather can go either way that time of year, slight warmer to slightly cool. Better to be safe than sorry. It's not going to be a NY/Canada/Swiss type cold but it won't be that hot.

This is exactly what you have to take into account.

I've been to Miami and the Bahamas in January a few years ago. Every day it was above 75 Fahrenheit (24 Celsius) or more.

For someone that lives in Florida anything in the 60's might feel chilly, but for people that are not used that it ever gets over 90 easily, that is really warm, over all during the winter...

Plus: aren't we going straight south? So Cozumel should be even warmer. I found this here: http://www.cancuntravel.com/weather.asp?d=cozumel

Cozumel: Average daily High in January: 82 Fahrenheit (28 Celsius) ,average daily Low in January: 68 Fahrenheit (20 Celsius)

Sure, weather is unpredictable, but think positive and don't forget that lot's of people will be coming from places that are covered under tons of snow and shit like that.

yeah I dunno what that works out to in celcius or whatever but in Seattle, it rains A LOT. Very much like England, Ireland, Scotland and parts of Norway (Bergen, etc). Because we are close to the sea. So for example, it was 64 degrees F. on Saturday and I busted out the shorts and worked in the yard. My sister lives in West Palm Beach, FL and everytime she visits here, even in the summer she complains about being cold. I drew the line when I was driving to Costco one summer day and it was 32 C, so VERY seasonable and warm. She turned my bloody heater on in my truck! WTF??????????

When I went on that other cruise in '08 it was the same time of the year as this cruise and it was 88 degrees in Cancun (very close to Cozumel)

I was sweating like a stuck pig and wanted to swim in the ocean so bad. So at the Tulum ruins during our official tour with a guide and everything, I excused myself and ran to the beach, and jumped in. AHHHHHHHHHHHHH

I will admit as a former NY living in Florida for the past 8 years my blood has thinned out. Anything LESS than 60 degrees is ridiculous in my opinion. :D

But still, out in the ocean in the winter time can still get a little chilly. I never said it would be freezing, but good chance you MIGHT need a light coat if you're outside at night with the wind whipping around.

I'd rather sweat than freeze. August is absolutely miserable down here due to the humidity, but it's a small price to pay for shorts and t-shirt in the winter months. :viking:

I would rather be freezing cold than sweaty. I love sweating when I am working out but hate being sweaty and hot. Being freezing cold you can layer your clothing......been to norway several times and love freezing weather like they have there.

Cold beats heat any day! Sweltering days are the only thing about this trip that I'm sort of dreading but will just embrace it in full tourist fashion... now where's to pick up one of those touristy, floral print shirts and straw hats...

In my opinion about this post

Who cares what anybody is wearing, its not a fashion show...

Most people I think could care less if your wearing a polo shirt or the most off the wall shirt. Unless of course your looking for attention.

This is like going to a biker event and wondering if you should take Dockers because you might offend the staff.

Much like many of the other threads on these, and any other internet boards, I think this one is just meant to be funny and have some fun. I highly doubt anyone posting here in sincerely concerned about fitting in or impressing anyone with their t-shirts.

To me, the entire meaning of this trip, and all the lead up to it including being a goofball on these boards, is about having fun. Anyone who needs to attack others' tastes in music or ideas of fun on an internet metal forum might just need to lighten up a little and go for a beer or hop into a circle pit at their earliest convenience. Metal = big, loud, crazy good times... Not my metal/shirt's better than your metal/shirt or I'm cooler than you are cuz I wear the uniform 24/7 and you don't.

I'm kinda curious if the fine dining restaurant will have a dress code. I have heard that most cruises have a fine dining restaurant that usually requires like a coat and tie. I wonder if they will drop that so that the metalheads can eat there? Otherwise it's going to be empty...

    No dress code.

The only thing we ask for, is that you actually wear a shirt when visiting the formal dining rooms.

Hence, no topless men in the dining rooms!

Other then that, wear whatever you want.

No shirts promoting racism or shit like that.

There's this dude who goes to loads of the festivals in Europe. He's a big fat dude with a beard and all he ever wears at the festivals is a pair of black speedo's.A pair of boots and a viking helmet. He also wields a pink inflatable guitar.
I assume some people who've been to european metal festivals will know the guy i'm talking about.

Yeah, I've definitely seen him at Wacken, I think I have a picture of him somewhere I can drag up.

There's this dude who goes to loads of the festivals in Europe. He's a big fat dude with a beard and all he ever wears at the festivals is a pair of black speedo's.A pair of boots and a viking helmet. He also wields a pink inflatable guitar.

I'll be sure to wear my finest tuxedo T-Shirt to the formal dining room :trashdrink:

As for the speedo guy, I think I had the misfortune to see that guy on YouTube...or maybe it was a similar weirdo. I can't be sure

I brought this up with a couple of my buddies a while back.
How would it look to the people in mexico watching a bunch of people with black shirts, and a good ratio of people with
long hair walking down the ramp off of a big cruise ship?

I think I'd run for cover if I were them. :-p

There is usually a tuxedo rental on board cruise ships. Wonder if they have one too. I'm sure they will do a hell of a business for this one. :shred:

Google "Tuxedo t-shirt" and order one of those. That is what I did in 2008

Kevin : DISAGREE. Smegma is no friend of mine!

I'm wondering if the ship is gonna have one of those "I survived the Ultimate Metal Cruise" shirt. That would be one of those types of shirts that actually wouldn't end up in Goodwill.
