yes, moshing on metalbåten 2006/2007 and das boot 2007 in scandinavia (metaltrip 24 hours from Stockholm to Åbo in Finland, but we dont have such jerky laws as US, as not available to drink tax free beer in your cabin, damn i hate that one=)

It's quite easy to remove the funrniture and thn put it back in after the cruise is over.
Anyway i already stated before that before i made my first payment for the cruise i made sure that there would be a standing area.And i emailed the staff and they said that several sections of the seating would be removed so don't worry.
As for the moshing yeah feel free to dd it i guess.I won't be joining you cause i prefer headbanging and throwing my fist in the air.
I will warn you though that there probably will be tight security.there's probnably a fair amount of money invested in this and i can imagine that if you are moshing too roghly you will get kicked out of the stage area.
Lately this kind of thing has become a much higher insurance risk.Even now 'Wacken' the biggest metal festival in the world is talkng about banning moshing and crowdsurfing due to waht happeend at the love Prade in Duisburg.
Even though they are too unrelated music sceens and types of people it's more about the fear of having large groups of people together and someone getting knocked on the floor and trampled on.

I was really shocked this year at Wacken when they flashed NO CIRCLE PITS in huge letters on the video screens from time to time - I had to figure it was because of the other German festival incident where all those people died this summer. (even though it was a very different situation) Kinda missed the circle pits though like I saw in 2009 - especially during Machine Head - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2KDA-7gQ ... re=related - I wasn't IN that one, but it was effin epic to watch on the screen/from the sidelines. Yeah i traveled to Duisburg and stopped there for a while to make a connection to another place for Dong open Air this summer.
I've never seen so many police officers at a police station in Germany in my life.
There was a few drunken Love Parade scum that i had to control myself from kciking the shit out of on the train to Duisburg.
Most of them were wired off their head on xtacy.Which didn't help the situation in a closd space.

I think people seem to forget that at metal festivals etc people are just drunk and a lot more chilled out than some guy listening to techno on speed or heroine.

But unfortunatly due to one well known parade/festival fucking up the rest of us have to pay for it.

A couple of hours later, Arch Enemy came on stage and during the second second song Angela starts making a circle with her hand and saying "Let me see you go fucking crazy"

And during Soulfly, each time Cavallera wanted a moshpit or some such, there would be a giant "NO MOSHPITS" flashing on big screens

You've got to be fucking kidding me right? wow.
There's a club here that books metal shows and doesn't allow moshing (because of insurance policies) but still, why book these shows if security is put in a position to enforce that rule? It became a riot situation at the recent Pestilence show and landed a few of my buddies in jail and in the hospital. Not because they were moshing, but because the overzealous nazi security guards grabbed 2 females by the throat and started fights with everyone. It was a shitty deal and numerous people got their ass kicked and tossed in jail for something as stupid as taking a picture, but hey, that's Tempe.
But WACKEN???? They have better things to worry about than moshing.

Did you hear about what happend at the before mentioned LoveParade in Duisburg/Germany?

This was discussed intensively in different forums and I - after reading probably each and every pro and con - can understand the decision of the Wacken-organizers.

I didn't say anywhere that banning moshpits was a bad thing, I just stated the facts that organizers said all the artist agreed on this policy, which, in case of Arch Enemy and Soulfly (and probably many other bands) wasn't true.
