True, but if 70K isn't the most profitable cruise that Royal puts on -- considering the merch percentage they collect AND the vast amount of alcohol consumed onbroad -- I wanna know what IS!

You must be new here, its NEVER too early to start complaining!!
Nah, I leave the bitching to desperate power metal fans
I feel as though I'm being personally attacked!
cowboy71 wrote: ↑Sat Feb 15, 2020 10:34 pm Just saw in another thread that after 10 x 70ks, even @lala is sick to death of the bullshit (dis)organisation in the leadup to 70k that him and his wife are thinking of not going in 2021.
I REALLY REALLY REALLY hope all of this concern/complaining/bitching doesn't fall on deaf ears and we see an improvement this year.
BUT, given that we are over halfway through February, over a month since disembarking and we still do not know our boat, or even our cruise line, or our dates, its not off to a good start!
Circling back to this one, some of the recent posts on the 70K facebook have focused on "starting the new year off in style".mbob wrote: ↑Sun Feb 09, 2020 4:15 pm
I have a feeling the dates have not been announced yet because it will be sailing later in the year. Makes no sense not to announce the date if it is January 7. Per the Royal Caribbean site... "Charter pricing will generally be most attractive in non-peak season such as September, October, early December and/or January and will be most expensive from May through August."
Sure they sell booze and merch, but they lose a ton in the shops, casino, spa, etc.. I'm sure they turn a nice profit, but I don't think it's as much a difference as you think from other cruises.Pellaz wrote: ↑Mon Feb 10, 2020 8:24 pmTrue, but if 70K isn't the most profitable cruise that Royal puts on -- considering the merch percentage they collect AND the vast amount of alcohol consumed onbroad -- I wanna know what IS!
Lol, I wasn't expecting a sailing from Galveston or New Orleans....
Yep. The Dow (biggest US stock market index) was down 900+ points earlier today, or about 3%, based solely on Coronavirus fears, as other economic indices continue to be positive.cowboy71 wrote: ↑Sun Feb 23, 2020 8:29 pm This Coronavirus thing is reaching "pandemic" levels. Wonder how that will impact 70K 2021?
Already hitting us Aussies - the Australian Dollar hit an 11 year low, thanks mainly to the coronavirus (Australia is a big exporter to China, so bad things in china means bad things for our economy too).
And while on this topic, here is what Royal Caribbean have put in place:cowboy71 wrote: ↑Mon Feb 24, 2020 2:44 pm Deaths over 2,600 now, huge outbreak in northern italy.... certainly showing no signs of slowing down:

Had the cruise been departing say, this coming weekend, I wonder how many sailors would be denied access.cowboy71 wrote: ↑Mon Feb 24, 2020 7:22 pmAnd while on this topic, here is what Royal Caribbean have put in place:cowboy71 wrote: ↑Mon Feb 24, 2020 2:44 pm Deaths over 2,600 now, huge outbreak in northern italy.... certainly showing no signs of slowing down:

$700 return from Brisbane to ShanghaiCardest wrote: ↑Tue Feb 25, 2020 4:54 pm Right now there are massive airfare sales going on.
People are just not booking flights right now.
United Airlines has a $799 return airfares to LA from Sydney!!
$1,200 return Sydney/London with British Airways on right now.....crazy!
Hopefully by 2021, this C-virus will be done and dusted.
Does it come with a free face mask?cowboy71 wrote: ↑Tue Feb 25, 2020 5:13 pm$700 return from Brisbane to ShanghaiCardest wrote: ↑Tue Feb 25, 2020 4:54 pm Right now there are massive airfare sales going on.

YES!
Nope!
I'm feeling similarly. Like I think I need dates (and some good news at work) before the end of May, and that's being generous.acidbasement wrote: ↑Mon Mar 02, 2020 9:52 am If dates don't get announced soon (like actually soon), the odds of my family being able to go are pretty low.
Heck, I'd happily take a face-mask. They're in short supply. (For the second one, washy-washy is still the best defense and a lot better than hand sanitizer.)
I can see it now!!!
LOL.
Oh, just STAAHHHP.Godflesh wrote: Get BIOHAZARD onbroad!
Annnnnnnnnnnd the fact that someone in china has now allegedly died after "recovering" from it could be a sign that a vaccine may not even work :/
Watched it live when it was on TV here a couple of weeks ago. Incredible.metalforever wrote: ↑Sat Mar 07, 2020 6:03 pm https://firefightaustralia.com/
very worthwhile fund raising for all the devastation in Australia with the fires , just finished watching a very good benefit concert with Olivia Newton John and Alice Cooper .
