    Performance shedual

    by Disco » Sat Sep 25, 2010 4:46 pm

I just thought of something. How is the performance shedual going to for this thing? There's a lot of bands I want to see on this cruise but there's one thing that concerns me. Are the bands going to be playing on different stages at the same time? I don't want to miss some of the bands that I want really want to see just so I can see others.

Hey mate - these posts from the FAQ should answer your questions:

How many gigs will each band be playing?
Most bands on board will be performing two scheduled shows and who knows what other jam sessions might arise?

Is all the music on the ship, or will there be shows onshore as well?
All performances will take place on board the ship. We feel you'll need a few hours to recover your senses and relax in the sun at the port stop.

    When are the performances?
Shows will start with a kick off sail away party on the first day of the cruise and essentially go around the clock.

When will the running order be available?
The running order for 70000tons of METAL will be posted a few weeks before we sail. Performances will take place at multiple venues on board the ship. We want to make sure that you'll be able to see each and every band on board perform an entire show, so no two bands will perform at the same time twice.

Is it going to be a problem if 2 bands are playing at the same time and everyone wants to see one of the bands and the other band has like 3 passed out people in attendance?

they won't let "the best band of a genre" play at the same time as the "worst band of a genre"
i assume that if a power metal band competes against a thrash metal band...the audience will be splitted automaticly between the two stages

So I was thinking of how they will set up the performances by stages. I hope they set it up so the genres will be according by location of the stages... if that makes sense. Just for argument's sakes, let's just go with 3 stages and "general" genres. Also, the running order can be and will be changed day to day. Pretty much like the WOA, I think this looks good (with 10 to go):

    Sun Deck (Power) Stage:
    Nevermore
    Iced Earth
    Gamma Ray
    Moonspell
    Tyr
    Epica
    Sonata Arctica
    Uli Jon Roth
    Sanctuary
    TBA (Blind Guardian?)
    TBA (Primal Fear?)
    TBA (Kamelot?)

    Indoor (Death) Stage:
    Fear Factory
    Amon Amarth
    Obituary
    Unleashed
    Marduk
    Trouble
    Finntroll
    Ensiferum
    Swashbuckle
    TBA (Opeth?)
    TBA (Immortal?)
    TBA (Cannibal Corpse?)
    TBA (My Dying Bride?)

^^^^ If this is the case, I'll be here every day! :headbanger:

    Indoor (Thrash) Stage:
    Testament
    Sodom
    Exodus
    Forbidden
    Death Angel
    Saxon
    Korpiklaani
    Rage
    Agent Steel
    Witchburner
    Raven
    Cripper
    TBA (Motorhead?)
    TBA (Kreator?)
    TBA

I'd hate to see Moonspell on the sun stage. Their shows are too gothic for the sun in my opinion
But I wouldn't mind if they had them set up by genre, although it would suck if you had to spend the entire day outside at the sun deck (for those who burn easily or don't like the heat).
