Booked a bit ago. Seemed like good value/location.. I'm too old to save $17 for some other place 36 miles away from the fun...... then take a bus, train,,transfer, bus. no TV,no internet..... roaches! HAHAH.
Nice room, amenities a few bucks is cool with me.
Now Disaster Area seems totally dialled in though.

Maybe we should all contact the Hotel and ask for a group discount. They will have filled rooms from people on this thread----like free advertising..

    im booked =]

    right next to the cruise!!

so my plan is - arrive Sunday at Fort Lauderdale, Fl around 5 or 6 am - nap at terminal - then around check in time for my hotel ( which is like 11 am ish? ) which is aright next to the port. I can also explore the city if i feel like it ( might not want to do too much sunday ) Then i can walk to the boat monday!

is anyone else flying to ft. Laurderdale, maybe we can split a cab?

Anyone heard anything about the Leamington Hotel? Looks like a total dump, but might be acceptable, I've probably stayed in worse when in Montreal. Supposed to be right close to the Port and downtown.

BUMP!! Ha... I had mentioned before that I was going to compile a list of names that are staying at this Hotel.
By scrolling the chat, I count about 11 rooms. Rhiawiz sent me a message.
I'll contact the hotel today, and ask for a discount for people that are staying there.I'll see if maybe they can give a promo code that I can share.
Seems like lots of people are staying there from info on this forum. Kinda use the old "we could've stayed elsewhere and spent our $$$ and in this troulbled economy angle" also... we won;t smash any shit up!!!
I'll post if I hear anything!!

I remember seeing this thread before now..... Much more fitting for my little accomodation spaz from the "Preparty Miami" thread last night!

If it helps, Jaimie, you can tell them I'll book in a second with them if there's a discount I can take advantage of! Thanks for doing the "legwork"!

    Hi Stephh.
I have contacet the Miami Port Holiday Inn re: getting a group discount as they will be at least 20 of us booking there.
I have not heard anyhting back --I'll follow up.
For me, it seemed the best value/location/amenities. I have a king for $178--not sure what other prices are.

Could be a pretty big pre-party !!! :shred: :shred: :shred:

there's one thing that stroke me while checking out the different hotel homepages:
you couldn't get a one-bed-room, read: room for one person
whenever you entered "one person, one room" you got a room for two...and that would be insanely expensive just for one guy
is it that uncommon there to offer single rooms?

Nope hotels are based on double occupancy in the states and Miami is gonna be expensive. Your best bet is travelocity, expedia, or price line that is what we are gonna do

I booked through priceline on the 9th on nov. I called THE ACTUAL hotel and they said they didnt have my reservation, so i had to call priceline and they cleared everything up. I had a really bad experience in maryland where for some reason, they "lost" my reservation a few days before, so i ended upstaying on the outskirts of town. horrible horrible experience. I would call the hotel just to be safe

We're staying at the Midtown Inn. A room with two dobble beds cost 170$ for two nights and its not so far away from the port.

I booked through the actual hotel's website, so it should be ok.
I'll call them in a bit to make sure they got my reservation though, just to be safe.
