This is hardcore... so already some of you have stopped reading and don't even care. However, this is not the fake hardcore many of you hardcore haters have heard and judge the entire 30+ year history of the genre on... this is the real deal. In fact, it's mind boggling that this came out this year, not 1997. Featuring members of Trial and Catharsis the band carries preconceived expectations that they blew right out of the water!
So, you can not check this out and just not know... or you can find out why I'd put something here knowing most of you hate the genre. You might just not like it (and if so, so be it), but you just might be surprised!

Really liked parts of it and dug the obvious Rollins influence of the vocalist. Too bad guys with voices like that can't often dial it back very well. Would have liked to have heard some variance in the emotion during the more melodic parts but I guess that's when he steps offstage and gargles with vinegar or something
Seriously though, any tracks off this where he sings during the softer parts or varies his attack much/at all?

We you the one who posted that in the comments section? I've gotta say, for a song so universally loved amongst us here, I'd never seen so many negative comments in a song clip on youtube. Usually when I look up a song, all the comments say something like, "This song rocks, and anyone who thinks otherwise is a fuckin' tool."

If you're not too familiar with them yet, I highly recommend the Dopethrone and Come My Fanatics albums. Especially the songs Wizard in Black (Fanatics album) and Funeralopolis (Dopethrone). Brilliant stuff.

"You gotta push it" I think. The "you" is pretty quiet compared to the rest of it and is sung low.

I laughed so hard the first time I heard that song because I thought that's what they were saying.

The other is Turisas.. I know, I know, they're quite popular and everyone knows who they are, I'd always heard OF them, just never bothered to listen to them until recently... and I kinda like it. Now i'm disappointed I missed them when I was at Download Festival in 2007, I saw them on the schedule but didn't know who they were at the time, so I must have decided to go do something else, damn. They would have been fun to see.

I love when stuff like this happens...just yesterday I got an email from a Norwegian guy I met at Hole in the Sky the last night and he asked if I knew the band Kvelertak (a fave of his). Well, I hadn't, but I swear to god, at the same time I was reading the email, I had thecmf.com site open in another window (which lists all upcoming metal gigs here) and they're going to be in Chicago at the end of October! I've just listened to a few songs so far, and I like 'em!!
