So, did they ever finish that saga? I heard about how Robert Jordan passed away before he could finish it himself.

I discovered the Wheel of time when there were already 9-10 books. I think it took me at least a year to read them all, also because I got stuck around no. 7 or 8, as it started getting confusing, but I'm glad I didn't give up :)

I'm just glad that Robert Jordan planned ahead enough to make it possible to finish the story! I just imagine having no closure after reading it since I was 10... that'd suck

Yeah, I was also very worried when I discovered he had got so sick... It would have been awful never to know how the story was supposed to end!

I wiped out George Martin's Dance with Dragons with stupid speed, and have been looking for something to capture my attention as well as he does. Right now I'm re-reading the Dark Tower series by Stephen King. Currently on book 5, "Wolves of the Calla". After I finish these books, I plan on checking out Tad Williams. Starting with the Otherworld series. Seems to be his flagship publication if my friend can be believed.

If you're RE-reading those and haven't already, be sure to read the books he wrote with Peter Straub - The Talisman and Black House

And if you read that fast and want some quality stuff, pick up any of Stephen R. Donaldson's Covenant Chronicles (9 books fantasy), Gap Series (5 books sci-fi) or Mordant's Need (2 books fantasy). He also did some Private Eye stuff but I didn't love it as much as the others

I had just assumed that would be the case. Back in Highschool, I got so confused trying to follow the saga, that I can hardly remember anything that happened in it now. I wonder how much time I spent reading it without actually knowing what was happening.

I'm about halfway through "In Search for Schrodinger's Cat" by John Gribbin, but I'm losing interest so it's on pause right now.

I'll definitely check his work out. Always on the lookout for new authors.

I've started The Talisman three times and always seem to stop for no real reason. I listened to the audio books years and years ago with my older brother, but I remember nothing about it. Probably should read them now considering they're related to the Dark Tower. Really been wanting to read Insomnia, but I'm the asshole that doesn't want to spoil the first edition print by reading it. Hah! Guess I can always get a beat up copy from Amazon.

Finished American Gods, and I enjoyed it. I thought it was pretty predictable, but still an interesting read.

Now, on to some videogames!

Neary finished Feast of Crows.
I have to say it's deffintly the worst of all the books.
Has it's moments here and there but compared to the rest of the books it's quite boring.
I think the characters were poorly divided between Feast of Crows and Dance with Dragons but i'm assuming there was a reason for that in terms of the story.
Really looking forward to it and geting onto reading Dance with Dragons.

I felt the same way with Feast actually although it did have a few shining moments of amazing, I think you will definitely enjoy Dance. Daenarys is so damnably bad ass in it.

The 13th book is waiting for me at the library, need to picj it up one of theses days.

yeah, I'm about to start Towers Of Midnight, bought it last year, but when I heard the last book was gonna be delayed until 2012 decided to wait to read it so it'd be fresh in my mind when the final book comes out... and while I'm VERY excited, I'm also bummed cause I've been reading this series for more than 2/3 of my life!

I've been having trouble getting back into reading books, ever since I stumbled upon a manga called "Cromartie High School". It's initially about an honors student who ends up in a school for delinquents. However, it really revels in its absurdity and before long, the initial plot has no purpose and the main character is just another prop for a series of hilarious mindscrew gags. It also constantly pokes fun at the concept of being "badass". Essentially, it is Dilbert for delinquents, and many of its jokes are themed around how being "badass" in the eyes of a delinquent is really all about appearances. Once I finish it, I'll get back to George Martin.

Decided to re-read (for about the 5th time now) M. Scott Peck's non-fiction book The Road Less Travelled from1978. I think it has one of the greatest opening lines and paragraphs of any of the so-called "self-help" books.
Life is difficult.
This is a great truth, one of the greatest truths. It is a great truth because once we truly see this truth, we transcend it. Once we truly know that life is difficult - once we truly understand and accept it - then life is no longer difficult. Because once it is accepted, the fact that life is difficult no longer matters.

I've been slowly making my way through H.P. Lovecraft - The Complete Fiction. Pretty good stuff!

Bummer... I thought it was coming out this month for some reason
Btw I really liked Towers of midnight :)

At the moment I am reading Duma Key by Stephen King. Definitely not SK's most exciting book but still nice.
