I like the 0 - 1 - 2 system. For me its a case of 0 = won't see 1 = will catch at least a set 2 = will try to see two sets

Putting it like that, I really wouldn't mind if only 1 maybe 2 bands I love get added in the remaining 14 bands. First cruise I think I caught about 26 full sets plus a couple of songs from maybe 2 or 3 more. And that was a pretty packed schedule.

I think this is a fairly realistic definition since last year there were some bands I was sure I'd catch 2 sets of but in the end I caught one and beer happened instead of the second.

Hammerfall (9.5/10)
Kamelot (10/10; favorite band that could've possibly been on the ship this year (since we had Tyr/Ensiferum/SA last year), don't care who's singing)
Therion (9.75/10)
Virgin Steele (9.5/10)

Bands I Will Definitely See One Set
Children of Bodom (7/10, will get dragged to a set by my cabinmate)
Moonsorrow (9/10, one of my favorites, but I have a feeling they're probably be playing at the same time as one of my other definites and I don't see myself giving them priority here)
Nightwish (7/10, seen 'em many times, love Anette, will catch a set for sure)
Riot (8/10, not super familiar with them, but what I've heard I like)
Stratovarius (7/10, just to say I've seen them)
Tristania (7.5/10, I'm one of the few that loves their new stuff; and I didn't realize Kjetil Nordhus [Green Carnation] was in the band now!!)

Stealing Ecliptica's format since it is human friendly and I am a half human.

Bands I Will Definitely See Both Sets or 2's

Tankard (9.5/10) Never seen them always wanted to and on my wishlist.

Virgin Steele (9.0/10) Never seen them even do a US show, and want to hear all the Invictus tunes

Therion (9.0/10) Pretty excited about seeing them with Snowy, will make a mess in my pants if they do a Thor the Powerhead cover.

Grave Digger (8.5/10) Would be a 10/10 if I never saw them before and they didn't have iffy sound at Brave Words Six Pack of Metal fest, so not sure what to expect.

Bands I Will Definitely See One Set or 1's

Hammerfall ( 8.0/10) Never seen them, but they are talented band and I do want to hear the really old stuff and the new tunes.

Alestorm (8/10) Could be this years Sabaton if they stay sober, might see both shows if possible

Overkill (8/10) Will go and make my return to the most pit, since they were might first moshpit, they might as well be my last, or perhap rekindle that aspect of my metalhood. But have seen them live the most out of any band ever. Seen them at shows with 30 people and a foot away from my face, will be hard to beat that.

In Extremo (7.5/10) Even working on my German for the show!! Enlightenment and education thru metal!

Coroner (7/10) They have grown on me the most out of all the bands announced so far.

God Dethroned (6/10) Will check them out for sure for half a set, if I stay or not is up to them.

My Dying Bride (7/10) Will be a totally awesome and hypnotic set or ZZZZZzzzzzzzzzz

Riot ( 7/10 ) Any band that Harry Conklin was in has to have something going for them.

Pentagram (6.5/10) They are underground metal legends!

Whiplash (6.5/10) East Coast Thrash!

Bands I Will See One Set If It Doesn't Conflict With Anything Else or .5's

Stratovarius (7/10) Another band that got rid of their an asshat member so might check out. Most likely a half of set for sure.

Amorphis (6/10) Could go up if they announce a set of only early stuff( but new vocal is iffy so might not matter ), new stuff is Finnish boy bandish, I could get drunk and go and try to start a 'Hevisaurus' chat!! That would be fun!

Nightwish (6/10) Never seen them,

Moonsorrow (5.5/10) Music is good, but the black metal vocals seem more annoying than usual to me for some reason, not sure why.

Cannibal Corpse (5/10) The asshat Barnes is gone so, might check them out.

Pestilence (5/10) They seem like a solid band, they could be a surprise.

Samael (5/10 ) Seen them before and they totally rocked, but might be the odd band out since I have seen them before.

Atheist (4/10) Will go check them out for half a set just to see if I remember any of the tunes, but most likely Brent Micheals will scare me off.

Bands I will only see because the ship is out food and there is nothing else to do, or I am hypnotized by :boobs:

Tristania (4/10) Beauty and the beast bands just don't do anything for me.
Children of Bodom (3/10) Sold out and one of the most annoying keyboard sounds in the known universe.
Dark Funeral (2/10) Might peek at a set just to see, but doubtful.

Kumelot (1/10) Still mad at them for all the hype around them and me buying Siege Perilous!

I want to take credit/blame for the Finntroll incident even though it was my cabinmate. We were drinking with Samuli (Finntroll) and Admiral Nobeard from Swashbuckle to the point where Samuli was just sitting on the bar stool and just fell off and passed out. The Jamaican bartender dude (the really cool black guy) was like: "Uhhh. . .is he okay?" and my cabinmate said: "Yeah, it's cool, he's in a band."

But then the medics were called and he taken off somewhere. Pretty epic night IMO.

Although who knows? Last year there were bands I intended to see and missed (Destruction, Forbidden, Death Angel, Dark Tranquillity, Exodus, Witchburner) and there were bands I intended to skip and watched (Tyr, Korpiklaani, Raven, Blind Guardian, Sabaton) so of course it's subject to change. For me, it really depends on scheduling and location. I strongly disliked the Spectrum Lounge, but I loved the pool deck. The Chorus Line is good, but nothing extraordinary.

18/56. I either see two sets or none, I guess. I'm not spending time on festivals just to get a chance to see bands I haven't seen or heard before. I'll see Nightwish once because my travel company would like to see them. ...and I just got to see Tankard one more time.

So you don't watch bands you don't know at all when you go to festivals?! :shock:

You just go for the bands you already know? I mean, of course it's the bands that I already know and love that make me go to a particular festival instead of another, but I always check out at least a few that sound interesting or that people have recommended and I thought that was what everybody does... For me it's one of the best thing about going to festivals: discovering new bands :)
