All in favour to quarantine the pengiun, raise your hands. It seems he's been spreading around his "2-out-of-3" virus. 3 nights ago, Dallas failed to beat Philly, two nights freaking Flames beat Red Wings and last night Benn failed to assist :bitch: :bitch: :bitch:

On second thought, maybe I should just stop picking Dallas :D

Seriously... 6 goals, and you can't assist on one, Jamie? I mean, sure, you scored one, but I needed an assist DAMNIT!

And holy craps! It looks like Boston was playing a 13-and-under women's hockey team.

To be fair, I believe Florida had 7 forwards out for that game but it was quite enjoyable :D Sole possession of first place in the East now :headbanger:

Oh, and can someone give me a quick explanation as to why Denmark is in the juniors, when I would expect some other countries to have better young talent. (Sweden, Russia, etc.)

The Worlds consists of the A group of teams--This year it's Canada,USA,Sweden,Finland,Russia,Czech Republic,Switzwerland,Latvia and Slovakia.Denmark, gets in by winnning the B Group of teams-- relagation type sytstem. So, every year there is the B group entrant--some years it's Germany,or Norway, Poland etc.

There is a C group as well --Israel and Australia !!
So if Canada ends up last, they get dropped down to the B group. This came close to happening a number of years ago when Kazakhstan beat us!

Okay. I got confused and didn't think Sweden, Russia, Switzerland, Latvia and Slovakia were in it. Must be another division that we wouldn't meet until medal rounds.

2 days rest, now let's get back to some HOCKEY!
http://www.theglobeandmail.com/news/opi ... le2269964/

Not to mention Canda vs. Finland and USA vs. Denmark today! I have to admit I'm glad that the US has an easier match-up for the first game, almost a warm-up for the rest of the tournament, though I guess they've been playing some exhibition games.

What a day of blowouts in the juniors! Favourites taking it to the underdogs big time (haven't seen result of Russia vs Switzerland yet though).

2/2 so far in the HTC stuff but Sharks n' Ducks have only mustered 40 shots after more than 2 periods. It's 3-2 for Anaheim so I think I'm cheering for overtime :?

DAMNIT! Had to get those extra shots.

It was an entertaining day for the Juniors. I expected some dominant wins, but I was thinking more like 4-1, not 8-1 and 11-3.

I thought Canada scored quickly at 2:14, but the US scored in 24 seconds. They better shore up their defense though.

Was at this game and had really good seats. 13th row behind the Canadian bench. It was such a fun game to watch but the suspense was kind of gone by the end of the second

Weird, I just had a HT taken off me. One I'd gotten a few days ago too. The Jamie Benn assist question was changed to say his goal counted as an assist. Bullshit! :bitch:

No, he actually got the assist for the last goal. Must have happened post game or something.

17:53 DAL EN - Michael Ryder (13) Backhand - ASST: J. Benn (22)

Guess that's HT for me. And another one tonight. Bad luck with Anaheim and San Jose mustering 61 shots or it would have been 3 in a row

I haven't gotten credit for that. (And I thought he should have gotten an assist for getting the face-off to Ryder.) I've been stuck on 8 for quite some time. Since I got a HT last night, and add that one, I should be at 10.

I turned off the Finland/USA game when the Finns scored late in the third to go up 4-1. That was an impressive bounce-back game for Finland after getting pasted by Canada. John Gibson didn't have his A-game today. Now, the US will have to respond to some adversity!

Canada's got a lot to prove in this year's tournament after last year's upset, so far so good, we've got a great team, I think. But there's still this little feeling of unease every time a shot gets to the net, our netminder's fragile... We'll see, tonight's game was great!

So yeah, the USA vs. Finland game was atrocious. When watching the 11-3 "trouncing" of Denmark, it was a close game until halfway through the second period. Denmark's goalie was making a ton of good saves, but had to get worn out by the constant pressure, and the flood gates opened. After seeing how Canada handled Finland, the US obviously expected the same thing to happen.

Finland's goalie made some really good saves, but there wasn't the pressure that existed in the last game. And instead of wearing them down, they kept them in the game. Add some weird bounces, unnecessary passes, and you get the US looking really awful. They deserved to lose. They were lazy, and expected the win, instead of going out there and earning it. The US is going to need some help to make the single elimination part of the tournament now.

Saw an interview with Visentin (or something like that) yesterday, and when he has to speak about last year's events, he's still shaken and seems soooo uncertain of how it's gonna turn this year, we'll see. But there's a better team in front of him this this time around, though.

Mooyagi: Yup, they suck this year, can't agree more (even if you didn't mean it this way!), bad trades, bad coaching... Better finish last and miss the playoffs to get a good pick instead of struggling to make them and finally being kicked out in the first round in 4. I LOVE the Habs-Bruins rivalry, honestly; both sides know their hockey and are so passionate about it. But one thing I can't understand is how last year's events with Chara and Paccioretty can be something to brag about, I mean, it was just ugly, dangerous, even if it was legal (somehow). I have nothing against a good check, a good fight, but that one was wayyyy too much, and I really thought the kid was dead for a moment. I know Bruins fans love their hockey dirty and mean, but since last year, I've lost a bit of respect after their reaction to this hit. Hopefully the rivalry will remain, but I'd take a cleaner one, since if a rivalry means hurting other players, I lose my interest, I guess. No one would like to see Bergeron get knocked out cold by another dirty hit, mm? ;)

I wouldn't be bringing up the hit if Pacioretty had serious injury as a result of it. Since he's fine, I can use it to add fuel to the fire. :death:

I recall a few of us arguing about it earlier in the thread. As a Bruins fan, I'm gonna be a homer on the issue and instantly crap on anything associated with Les Habitants. :P

We do love our old time hockey here. Maybe if the Habs would not be bunch of flopping, crybaby pussies and actually punch the B's back in the mouth Boston would relent a bit. Yeah right.

Read an interesting article on the B's goonism over the past couple of years. They're gonna keep getting away with it the more teams and the league lets it happen. The NHL needs to toughen up and join in the streetfight. :deathhorns:

I love hating on Montreal ;)

Yeah well if the Habs start fighting instead of talking, the winner's quite obvious! I wouldn't dare to punch Lucic in the face, either!

Anyway, as strange as it seems, I hate Montreal. The city, I mean. I'm from Quebec City, home of the ex(or soon-to-come-back)-Nordiques, but have always cheered for Montreal since I was like 5 years old. If a team is brought back in my hometown, I'm not sure I could resist the pressure not to change sides!

One less Habs fan is a victory for Planet Earth :beerwink:

I'm hoping when the Coyotes leave Arizona (assuming it happens) they will end up in Quebec City.

I doubt Phoenix will keep their team, honestly. They'll be moved next year. It could be in Quebec, but I've heard a lot of rumors about Vegas or Kansas City, too. But fuck that, hockey's meant to be played in lands of ice and snow, so one choice remain...

Pens just can't consistently beat top teams without El Sid in the lineup. Thank the godz for the Isles, without those bums the Pens are 10-12-1 against the rest of the East and wouldn't be in the top 8 in the conference. Just not good enough right now. Gar.

As always, Let's Go Pens.

The Stars have always had strong ties to Montreal, so I would root (any Aussies reading this?) for them regularly. I'm not as emotionally invested in them, or anyone in the East, especially since we have seen them so rarely. Hopefully, the realignment will help with this.

I also forgot to mention how interesting I found the Canadian fans booing the US in the Juniors to be. There seems to be real dislike of the US. Meanwhile, when it's Canadians in the US, we mainly react with indifference, or mostly rooting for them. Seems like the Canadians have an inferiority complex, while the US is just "meh" about Canada.

Not really looking forward to the Czech/Canada back-to-back. I guess the important one is to be the Czechs and hope they win a tie-breaker, since Finland gets their bye (Denmark) today.
Never take anything I say seriously.

Do NOT buy a record based on my recommendation.
