That is a great song and video...and one of only a few songs I know by Equilibrium - need to check out more. And a related comment to Dan & Rhia who said elsewhere (I'm paraphrasing of course) that folk metal is simplistic and perhaps too "happy." Since Equilibrium is considered in the folk metal category, I would say that this song doesn't fit either adjective. Just sayin.'

Nicolas....I've been meaning to say this for awhile...we share *a lot* of the same musical tastes...
Are you like...um...my long-lost Colombian son?

Just kidding of course. :beerwink:

Fantastic band! But that's one of their weaker songs in my opinion, though that whole Sagas album is a masterpiece. Laura, here's a couple of links from each album (Note: New singer and drummer for Rekreatur and I can't do anything about the YouTube Newt Gingrich ads. Good thing you can skip them after a couple of seconds. That piece of shit doesn't deserve air time :P )

Turis Fratyr:
Widars Hallen
Tote Heldensagen

Sagas:
Verrat
Die Weide und der Fluß

Rekreatur:

Really? I think that's one of the best on that album. So much fun to play. Every song by them is pure gold though. I must see them live.

Man, must be in a rut. Rocking more Antimatter.

"Conspire" to "Leaving Eden" flow like perfection and Mick Moss is very on point. "Conspire" has to be my fave antimatter song.

Conspire - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W_GknVUctRA
Leaving Eden - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W8s5uBpG0mU

Love this verse too (though Mick pens tons of excellent and heavy lyrics):

The cost of innocence is the loss of innocence
Some may pass away, but some die screaming
When it came to my time, oh it took me by surprise
Was it my mistake, or am I born for giving in?

That's a great album

It is :D, though I like Saviour more

"Saviour" is a awesome album and the one I discovered em' on. I was wondering where Duncan Patterson musical endeavors went after the awesome "Alternative 4" and found Antimatter. The songs are good on "Saviour" but some of the production on that album is a bit annoying to me. The drum machine was hard to take (Arg, I understand you gotta do what ya gotta do and I use them but am so happy he uses real drums now) "Angelic" and "Over your shoulder" being the stand outs. I am also glad Mick found his voice (though people tell me he sounds like Eddie Vedder when I play them tracks.)

:bangers: on the taste mooyagi and Tuup. Too bad we can't agree on Turd Vikernes mooyagi , haha. ;)

Yea, Flowers is a very beautiful song. You know you might dig <metal mode off> sneaker pimp - "splinter" as there are a lot of songs that have somewhat of that vibe. Was the first album Chris Corner took vocal duties but man is that a dark album. I am sure you have a ton to jam to but scope it if you get time, might be rewarding:

haha, nice "Alternative 4". I think last we spoke about anathema you diged "Judgement" the most. Soon it will be "Serenades" :beerwink:

Yes - love them - especially Love Drive from 1979 - every song is just wonderful and perfect in every way :P ....(would be curious to know how many times I've listened to it since 1979....first as an LP, a CD, and now on my iTunes - I'm sure it would be a shockingly high number! )

My favorite is either Virgin Killer or Taken by Force. Both have such amazing songs.

I never liked "always somewhere" however i think "is there anybody there? " is a really unique and fantastic song. Alot of fans hate that song too!
