Last weekend I was in Germany for the last two shows of the Dead Tyrant tour and I loved both concerts.
I wanted to write a small review because so much fun stuff happened on stage during the Berlin show, but I am too lazy. So I will just say a couple of things.

Glauchau is a hole of a place, so never go there for concerts unless you live there :mrgreen:

In spite of the shitty location, the venue was good, we got front row spots for Moonsorrow and Ville recognized us and came to say hello after the show (yes, I was very happy :mrgreen:

).
Crimfall were a surprise. I had seen them before but I thought they were terrible. This time I was really impressed.
Týr were good too, they are just a bit too cold, I can't get all excited when they play. But still they played two great shows. Even if they played last both times they had a much smaller and quiet crowd than Moonsorrow :mrgreen:

And in Berlin they played covered in blood like Moonsorrow

Moonsorrow and Crimfall also got on stage while Týr was playing and had some posters where they had written "masturbate" and "ejaculate" so "By the sword in my hand" got new lyrics and everybody sang along:
By the sword in my hand I will masturbate and ejaculate those who question the sword... :lol:

Just awesome!

Next gig will probably be a folk metal night on the 7th of January with a few local bands.

all you US and Canada Steel panther fans, they will be on tour in the start of Jan.

Not sure who they are touring with, but there are rumors of sold out shows at bigger venues.

I so wish I could have seen this! Reminds me of when Swashbuckle changed Mutiny Within's merch sign at a show from "Be Back After Set" to "Be Back After Gay Sex" :lol:

Next gig - Might go support my buddy's first gig as potential new guitarist for local Motorhead tribute band Snaggletooth tomorrow night. Either way, I'll be seeing them (and hopefully John with them) mid January opening for the Maiden tribute band Powerclown who've I've spoken about here before but still have yet to make it to one of their gigs. Look them up on youtub if ya want a good laugh :lol:

Some other local stuff between now and the cruise but not much of note that I'm aware of atm

Went and seen Arkona and Korpiklaani last Wednesday for my wife's birthday up in Columbus. Was a hell of a time. Then the night after, went to a local venue/dive bar and watched a band called Horseburner. Can't believe this band isn't more popular outside of this state. Very heavy, very good. Fans of Baroness, Orange Goblin, A Storm of Light, Electric Wizard would get down with this.

Last night was Portugal The Man, indie rock band from Alaska that left state and "hit it big". I ran into a bunch of old high school buddies that I haven't talked to in about a year. Couldn't find my regular friends so I spent the night reminiscing and catching up with old friends

Last night I accidentally got to see Kursk (or KYPCK like they write it). Never liked them, but damn, was the gig good. They played a cover of Black Sabbath's Fairies Wear Boots in Russian, which was really good.

I wouldn't mind seeing them on the cruise, even if they are Finnish.

Korpiklaani and Arkona was last night. I had soooooo much fun! Got there as Polkadot Cadaver went on. Wish we got there later. That band was bad although they did do a cover of Billie Jean. :lol:

Arkona was fan-fucking-tastic. They were the best of the night for me. The crowd was really into it too. Can't wait for them to come back in the Spring. Got a nice view of Masha for it. :wank:

Korpiklaani was fun as always. I love Korpiklaani mosh pits. Everyone is just hopping and dancing around and the people are so nice in them. Just an all around good time.

The crowd was a lot smaller than I expected. Most of my friends couldn't make it due to other plans and hopefully this was just due to the upcoming holiday season and not a sign of things to come. One guy asked me if the cruise was still available to book so hopefully he gets a cabin soon and met a couple other people that will be going this time around.

Next up is Ghost on January 20th then it's off to Miami for 70000 Tons of Metal!!!!!! :headbanger:

Went to go see Nekrogoblikon again last night in Pasadena at the Old Towne Pub.

It was an awesome show, fantastic set list and only about 25-30 people there. Talked with Alex (the guitarist) for almost an hour afterwards. They're planning a ton more shows in 2012, but it's never been a serious full-time thing for them so they're going to self-produce all their albums (they have two more albums of material written) and they'll be headlining a show at Whiskey A Go Go sometime in February/March, probably a 14 song setlist/90 minute show.

Should be pretty awesome. I fucking love these guys.
