Cheering for Vancouver is something I don't typically do, but they better kick the shit out of Boston this weekend

I hope the Bruins aren't wasting all their goals tonight though

Don't think Vancouver fans would be wise to try and rub it in our faces. We do have the cup still. Regular season game means very little in comparison. :deathhorns:

You know, I really, really like the Bruins. They're a great team. Last year, in my predictions, I put them straight where they went: as Stanleuy Cup champions. Even as a Habs fan. Yet, this year, I hope they get fuckin' destroyed, in any possible way. I love their team as much as last year. I hate their fans. And mooyagi's just the tip of the iceberg. Boston fans are so arrogant they just deserve to lose. As much as I like how they play, as much as I like Thomas and his epic goaltending, their fans are just... (put random negative word). I recognize the team's talents. I can't stand arrogance.

Go, huh, Nashville, go!

lol... no, no trash talk. Can't earn that until I see you guys bow out of playoffs before us and even then it won't be much unless it's at our hands

Nah I just figured since you guys took it on our ice, this is the Boston faithful's first chance to cheer for the Bruins while the guys ya took it from are on your home ice. And yes, of course, I'm hoping they taunt chant Lou and he stone's 'em to show he's still got some pride n' skill but who knows. Both teams are pretty hot right now so I expect a great tilt :headbanger:

Personally, I think 9-0 over some bottom feeders ain't quite as impressive as 2-0 over a contender but hey, a shutout's a shutout ;)

58 shots on net... Makarov was brilliant, but the Swedes wouldn't relent. Russia just looked out of gas.

Hopefully so! You know, it's shame Radulov went back to the KHL, I was a huge fan of him since he played in my hometown during his junior years. An incredible player, that I'd have loved to see in the Preds. But Gabriel Bourque just scored his first goal, my ex-roomate knows him very well, you just gained some more fans in Quebec! :D

Personally, I think 9-0 over some bottom feeders ain't quite as impressive as 2-0 over a contender but hey, a shutout's a shutout

True! But let them think they'll win again this year, it'll just be more painful when they get kicked out in the second round!

Moo: True Habs fans cheer for their team. The "Ole Ole Ole" is taken from soccer crowds, and are aimed towards the home team; it's an encouragement song. Of course some fans are asses, but it's a case for most passionate teams. BUT!! ( :ugeek: ) Everytime I see a Bruins fans talk, it's just to discredit another team. I haaaaate that, cheer for your team, stop being pricks! And I'm not talking about you, you're a soft-hearted fan, truly, most are worst!!

The discrediting is probably a lot more prevalent now because every major team in the city has had ultimate success in the past 10 years. There have been seven victory parades in the city in that time. Those teams, with success and a sports media that has a northeast bias comes a target. They become the villains in the league. People get this idea that everyone is out to get them/discredit the teams' successes in any way they can. They return the favor. People out here LOVE the villain role so they take great pleasure in making everyone else miserable as a result.

Not to mention that the teams have been around for so long (except the Patriots) that some very fierce and long-standing rivalries have formed. Those always get ugly over time. You probably see more hate from B's fans because of the rivalry with the Habs. :deathhorns: Keep in mind, the Habs have dominated the rivalry over time. There's a lot of bitterness down here.

And don't worry. There is a looooot of cheering for the teams going on too. We just do it at the same time as all the other fun stuff.

Rob hun, I have mucho cabin mate love for you man and was cheering for Vancouver to stomp the ever loving shit out of Boston this weekend... but this comment. As deserved as it is after last night's disgrace... I now wish a pox on both Canucks and Bruins in their game this weekend in which all of your star players are hit with serious injuries, unable to play and completely fuck up their chances to even make the play offs.

Wait, you expected them to not get their asses kicked like that last night? Ok, Injury ridden, end of a 7 game road trip (or was it 9?) which spanned from Vancouver to Florida to Boston and 2 of those games were completely thrown by the refs, mostly against division leaders it seemed like, and against a team who has won 23 of the last 25 games. I'm not even mad at them for losing last night. Doesn't matter if you lose 9-0 or 3-1, its all worth the same amount of points. We'll beat Minnesota tomorrow, don't worry.

Nucks announcers said they started Schneider because he's from the Bahstan area.

Yeah that's a convenient little excuse. He's from Marblehead I believe. Definitely it was because Luongo's a very sensitive man and he would fall apart with the hostile crowd

Very chippy game so far! It's a fun one.

Nucks announcers also said Thornton's a criminal and should be in jail.
True story.

You should hear the Bruins announcers  Let's just say there were some very mean things said about Vancouver. Especially when Weise refused to fight

Bruins were bunch of boneheads today. That major on Marchand was a killer. 'Nucks were unstoppable on the PP. Shame the two teams aren't scheduled to meet again. Enjoy the victory Rob and Bruins haters. We'll be back

Wouldn't be surprised if Lucic misses the next game for leaving the bench in the early scrum. Though perhaps Shanny thinks the game misconduct he got sufficed. Dumbasses. If they stayed out of the box all game maybe we have a different result.

I'm sure that Rob, I and others are happy with hockey results so far today. Ribeiro has been really impressive. Losing a tooth, lips the size of watermelons, knee-on-knee... still scoring.

I'm pretty indifferent as long as the Canes go down tonight.

So the PA rejects the re-alignment which I found interesting. I'm not sure of the exact sticking point but overall it did seem to work out better for the players, certainly travel wise. Interesting to see how this plays out.

Weird. Any news on why?

Looks like Lucic won't get any discipline for leaving the bench. The league rescinded his game misconduct (lot of good it does the team now  Of course that probably doesn't change the outcome in the end anyways but would've been nice to have him available all game) and ruled that he was legally on the ice during the early scrum.

NHLPA cited travel issues (bogus) and an unresolved playoff format as the reasons for the block.
What an interesting way to build some goodwill with the league the year before impending labor talks begin next summer.
(Let's see, where's the gun to the head emoticon...)

Yeah, NHLPA is pretty ridiculous. If they lockout again, I'm done with hockey. The last lockout resulted in my canceling the season tickets I had for 8 years. I also like how they wait until the "deadline" before saying anything about it, so now the NHL has no choice but to scrap all plans.
