I think they definitely will as well :beerhorns:

Tuesday I was showing my Dad a few of the pictures that I just had framed, he says to me "really, I don't see why you bother getting those framed. Barely anyone even knows who they are, you need to start listening to more mainstream music". This is ironic for the fact that he still has a mullet and one of the main priorities of my upbringing to him was to raise me on Classic Rock

This thread reminded me of one of the awesome things about being back home.

When I took my almost-3-year-old-son out to get some takeaway for our dinner the night we got back home as we couldn't be bothered cooking.

Nightwish's "I Want My Tears Back" came on the stereo, and he started singing along :)

And, when I got him out of bed this morning the exchange went like this:

K: "Did you have a nice time in America"
Me: "Yes"
K: "Did you see the bands?"
Me: "Sure did!"
K: "Did they play Bed of Males?" (meaning Bed of Nails, as he loves Van Canto's cover version of that song)
Me: "No dude, but they did play I Want My Tears Back"
K: "Cool"

My awesome son is awesome :D

Yep, all of us are metal. The girls (significant other, Juuno & daughter, Stabitha) also like some other forms of music or, more specifically, some particular non-metal artists (thankfully no country or hip-hop), but they're metal chicks at heart. I prefer my horizons nice and narrow, so I listen to very little other than metal. We've all seen many gigs together: Slayer, Judas Priest, Amon Amarth, Cradle of Filth, Septic Flesh, Satyricon, etc, and now 70K. It's very cool to be a metal family.

So did you ever meet Nicolás????

My older brother is totally into metal and my oldest sister was at some point. The youngest kinda, but it depends on who she's friends with at the moment  and then one after me is a musical lost cause

my sister and half brother listen to some popular buttrock they think is metal... but my youngest cousin is actually asking me a lot about good metal and seems to be developing pretty good taste

The only forumites I met were Gnoff (co-founder of the Hypo Shirt Club and easily recognizable) & Marlo (walking by while I was in the eternal merch line), I said hello as we were passing and chatted for only a minute. (I think it was) Pablo and I spoke for a few minutes in the Viking Crown while his wife, who's preggers, was falling asleep on the couch behind us. I recognized Kev & Mox but during shows and I was headbanging, they were headbanging, and I neither stop nor interrupt that noble activity. :headbanger:

My family does not. Although, my sister loves all things metal, except the music, and after 30+ years, she's starting to break down and listen to some. (Mainly out of curiousity after watching Metal Evolution.)

None of my girlfriends have either. Not too long ago I dated my first girlfriend again (after 25 years), and she was shocked I was still listening to the same music. She thought I'd grow out of it.
Never take anything I say seriously.

Am I Evil? I am Dan. Yes, I am!

Do NOT buy a record based on my recommendation.

So what does she listen to? If it's something you'd hear on MTV or Kiss 108, then I think I'll join you in the eye-rolling.

Thanks Laura :) It was awesome chatting to you too! Certainly made our time waiting in line for cab in the heat far more enjoyable :)

Look forward to catching up again, and will hopefully make it to Chicago one day.

Not even close.

I've only ever had one girlfriend that was into metal. Most of them I run into these days are a lot younger, so I don't think that's going to work out too well. The younger ones are cute, but I get tired of having to explain things to them all the time... Just easier being single most of the time.

It's nice to see more, "mature" women into metal. My dating life might be a little better over in Germany...

For the most part not so much, but my parents do have a little liking

I let my mother listen to some power and folk metal and she likes some of it.

Mother is a fan of Led Zepplin, Pink Floyd , and Queen but mostly country these days and father years ago found out he went to a Black Sabbath concert before I was born, so I get some of my start into metal from them and then I just took off with it.
