oops wrong Forum
i think a large number of us could lead off with that
that sounds about right! It was ages ago that I did an introduction on here, I think I'm going to make a new one - for newcomers looking to introduce it looks something like this:
Calgary, Alberta, Canada
What first got you into metal?
I slowly progressed getting into metal through the course of my life, when I was a kid my dad did a "School of Rock" type thing with me. He would burn cds to play for me and would quiz me on songs, bands and albums whenever he could for Classic Rock. When I was 12-15 I started to look for heavier: grunge, punk and heavy metal and found my home with metal because you could consistently keep finding heavier and heavier things for it, very addicting and empowering. My very first metal show was Arch Enemy but what I think sealed the deal for "fan for life" was the first time I saw Amon Amarth play.
Play any instruments?
I used to play guitar, was terrible even though I took lessons for two years. I occasionally play my drums, was doing lessons for them but not enough time right now
Top 5 bands? (this is so damnably hard)
Kreator (could replace with Death Angel or Sepultura)
3 Inches of Blood (could replace with At the Gates, Wintersun, Hypocrisy, Tyr or Ensiferum)
What do you do?
What do you like to do in your spare time?
I play D&D every two weeks, I started playing a lot of video games after I took an arrow to the knee, reading - big fan of fantasy novels, just going out and seeing what kind of trouble my feet can land in with friends and of course metal shows. There is more but I'm only on my first cup of coffee this morning.
What deck are you on?
Deck 2 - Barge bound baby!
What's a creepy thing I can say when I see you that no stranger should know and will weird you out that I do?
Hmmm... really, this forum is FULL of creepers. You learn to just accept and best possible way is to become one too. I'm sure it wouldn't be hard too creep me out but expect some creeping back
