Hey, been lurking on these forums off-and-on for the last little while, but finally registered just now, haha.

Anyway, I hope I'm not out of line sharing this on here, so I apologize if I am.
But regardless I'm pretty excited about the new Netherward album 'BloodMeal' and thought you guys might be too!

Yeah we somehow got a ton of attention from all the pirated metal sites! It's great people are feeling the album (especially russia haha) but they should have stolen a better quality rip. 128 Kbps sucks! You gotta go at LEAST 192 or else make it vbr; jeez guys! Damn n00bs stealing our shit, hahaha.

I highly approve of this thread! I saw you guys at the Red Deer show with Viathyn, Striker and Pearl Reckless. Bloodmeal kicks so much ass. Berserkergang always reminds me of the boss fight in Fable 1 where you're fighting the gang boss with the 2 huge blades.

Ha, no way! You were witness to our long struggle against the Black Curse! We had to play that show instrumentally because our vocalist Andrew was seriously sick. We gave it our all but we felt bad that we couldn't give the Crimson Stag (red deer) the full show with vocals and all. Nevertheless they invited us back for their finals and a chance to play the Boonstock festival. We didn't care about going to Boonstock or not (though it would've been nice) but we were stoked that we got an opportunity to come back and play a show for that town with our full and healthy line up.

But alas, the Black Curse found us again! Days before that show approached I was admitted into the hospital for liver failure. I was so dehydrated and poisoned by my own body that my pee looked like guiness (same color and everything) and I could no longer walk on my own. It was brutal, but they fixed me up good and sent me home after 3 days. The first thing I asked my doctor was "can I still play a show with my band on Saturday?" and she was like "Not a chance in hell", hahaha.

Anyway, fast forward 3 weeks later and we've got our CD release show next Saturday at Brixx (the bar under the Starlite Room in Edmonton). I'm still not quite at 100% strength but I'll be damned if the curse will strike us again. I think we've weathered the worst of it, and I hope it's smooth sailing from here.

The Black Curse did its worst and we're none the worse. The only lesson here is: METAL PREVAILS!!!

Ok I gotta ask about the cover art. It reminds of of that shitty water scene in the Phantom Menace mixed with the Finding Nemo fish that had the same light on it's head. Now while Nemo is an excellent film and I own it on DVD, I can't say I like that mixed in my metal world.

Anyhow, I digress. The reason we have a female Angler Fish on the cover is because it's FUCKING METAL. Why? BECAUSE THAT FISH IS AN EVIL, VILE CREATURE.

Hahaha, I'm not really a big power metal fan, but Viathyn is awesome. They're worth seeing even if just simply for the virtuosic technical ability of their bassist; and that's saying something coming from a drummer. Those guys are solid.

Plus I like saying nice things about dudes putting in good words for me at festivals, hahaha.

But all joking aside, there's a ton of really bad metal bands out there, so when I get a chance to play with a band as talented as those dudes, I don't even care what kind of metal it is. The ability of the band supersedes genre at that point.

Will do, same goes for if you spot me

For Calgary local bands that would be right up your alley to play with would be Gales of Avalon, Phantom Limb, Kyoktys, Akakor and Moradin would probably jump on a show with you as well. Would definitely recommend trying to get in touch with them :)

Yeah, there's tons of bands in Calgary! Illuminated Minerva, Sub Atomic Chaos, Throne Of Vengeance (more thrashy, but it never hurts to have some variety), Divinity (like I needed to tell you about them they haven't done a show in a while though), uh...me when I get my shit together .
