Well since it will be almost impossible for us Scandinavians to get to both cruises I feared that the bands will choose for you on which cruise you will go.
Then I realized that it will almost be horrible to have two cruises since probably half what you listen too will go to barge and the rest for 70k.

This is mine and my girl worst fear top 12 list in this band versus the cruises.

BARGE
1. Behemoth
2. Slayer
3. Amon Amarth
4. Arch Enemy
5. Dimmu Borgir
6. Vader

1. Turisas

6. Xandria (only playing their newest cd because thats bloody awsome)

What is your worst "versus" list of favourite bands on the different cruises ?

Cool topic! Since I can most likely only swing one cruise, and I'm leaning towards 70K I secretly hope that the Barge lineup sucks. :lol:

It would be very sad if I can't go to one of the cruises and they both have stellar lineups. Of course, I'd me mighty happy if the cruise I do end up going on ended up with either of these top 6's.

Oh this is a good topic. Everybody who is a Symphony X fan (like myself) should know that they are probably not going to play on a cruise ship. From what I've heard it's because they're not really fan friendly and being on a cruise ship, it would be hard to avoid people.

Well with that said, it all depends on the line-up for me for either cruise. So for my wishlist:

Barge to Hell:

1. Morbid Angel
2. Dimmu Bogir (performing Enthrone Darkness in it's entirety)
3. At The Gates
4. Nile
5. Abigail Williams
6. Keep Of Kalessin

Yeah, unfortunately though I don't think that matters cus a tour would trump a one off festival. That's why Stratovarius had to pull out of the first one. Hopefully they smarten up and get on the cruise.

The only thing I'm worried about with Barge is melodic death metal and maybe some thrash. There would have to be a lot of bands that would convince me to go on BTH and not 70k.

I went the "dream line-up" route. I'm hoping that UMC makes it less painful for me to miss 70K13 by booking power metal bands so, actually, that would be my dream line-up for 70K! That won't be the case, I'm sure, and I'll be grousing once I see a few bands I really like on 70K13. But, as a death metal fan there will simply be more bands I like on Barge. If I could do both, I would in a heartbeat. At this point, though, it's so unlikely I'm not even willing to entertain the thought. :viking:

Yeah, not a lot of us could pull doing both unless they don't do any other trips the rest of the year. I don't think it'll b too hard for me to miss BTH but there will definitely be a handful of bands that I'll gripe about missing.

I'm a huge fan of technical death metal (Origin, Brain Drill...), death metal (HoB, Death, Morbid Angel...), goregrind (Aborted, Benighted...), doom (Cathedral, Candlemass...), 70's rock (Uriah Heep, Deep Purple...) and female-led metal. Oh, and I like lots of pop music as well. And The Cardigans is one of my all-time favourites.

And yes, I even liked the new Korn album. :lol:
