This translates from Canadian as “woman that blows HOT air” and there is a lot of hot air being blown on this thread and among others. LOL

I'd like to do both Barge and 70k, but am not sure yet. After the agreement with the douches, money is no problem, but I too have too few vacation days. I think I can get some unpaid leave, but I'd like to stay in the US for a bit more time than just the cruise. So we'll see.
And if I do Barge, I can't spend Christmas in Ukraine as was the plan.

Why in Ukraine of all places?!

And it would be cool to go to Chernobyl on Christmas.

Even through I couldn't find my warranty, they were happy to fix it without charging me for anything but the shipping. It still means going a few weeks without any of my PS3 games, but I've got Skyrim and Mass Effect for my PC, and the latest Star Ocean game for my Xbox 360. I'll need to find a way to make time stand still when I can add my PS game collection to that list.

Why not? Never been there and I love traveling in the Eastern Europe. Oh, and they celebrate Christmas in January like Russians, so all the shops etc. are open during our Christmas.

gnoff wrote:gnoff after 70k 2011 - there's no way I'll attend 70k 2012, I'll just not have the money or vacation, I'll probably come back in 2013 instead
gnoff some 2 months after - Hey I'll make 70k 2012 for sure!
gnoff during 70k 2012 - I don't think it's likely I'll attend Barge to Hell and at least I will not attend both BtH and 70k 13!
gnoff after 70k 2012 - I really want to go to both BtH and 70k 13, I'm just not going to be able to, mainly due to no vacation and all the other stuff I've planned.
gnoff right now - Sweet, looks like I'll be at BtH adn if the date for it isn't bad for work, I'm rather likely to attend 70k 13 as well!
I had planned for some vacation that is not happening, and the way it looks like now I'll have vacation days for both cruises as long as I don't come early and don't stay after.
I'll spend 16 days for upcoming metal festivals this summer and my CO beercation in October, that leaves me with 12 more vacation days, so 5 for Barge and 5 for 70k.
Hey I even have 2 more days for some random act of crazy to go see a band or go beer somewhere![]()
Disclaimer as of spending money during the remainder of 2012:
I'm one of 2 that has been offered a rental, I've accepted, not sure when I'll know if I'm the one that gets it.
I'm also one of probably 3 that has been offered another rental that I haven't checked out yet.
Both rentals are MUCH closer to work compared to where I live now, and I would get to sell my house. The rent is about the same as I pay for fee, heating and loan stuff on the house today.
BUT, if I get a rental but don't get to sell my house fast enough or for enough cash, I might end up with an extra 1100 or so USD per month in expenses, if that goes on for too long and I don't manage to sublet my house I'll end up not having money for any cruise, fun stuff![]()
Hey, I'm sort of young and I want to spend my money on fun stuff instead of being wise and saving up for old age, lets hope I get the rental I've accepted now, that I get to sell my house fast for decent money and they that I'll show up for Barge and the next 70k!
Well, I hope for it anyways

It's a Native term meaning"warm wind" or something like that. Just the way the mountains and jet stream wind patterns come together. So, It could be -30c int he morning, and +10 by noon! lol
Chinook is to Calgary , as what wind chill is to Edmonton!
Marlo--stop talking about the weather,,, you hate that!
