For me it would be The Project Hate because they are a studio band and do not tour, so it would be a miracle if they got them to play.

Second would probably be Torture Division since they share many members with TPH and do actually tour occasionally (they are doing the Swedish cruise for example).

Here lately, if either Christian Mistress or RAM are aboard either cruise (which I assume both would be on 70k), that would solidify my booking. Not much else these days would be a big selling point aside from something along the lines of Emperor.

Any one of these three would guarantee me for 2013.

VAN CANTO - love these guys (and girl), cannot see them ever touring Australia, so them doing 70k would be a great excuse for me to go again.

WITHIN TEMPTATION - as time passes they become less and less likely to be on 70k though, as they do not even refer to themselves as a 'metal' band any more :(

MAGNUM - again not a 'metal' band, but Bob Catley has a lot of metal cred (singing for Avantasia, amongst others) that they would definitely not be out of place on 70k. And I LOVE them.

If RAM was announced that would get my interest also, but I think they are too underground and didn't form in the 80's for UMC to care, unless Metal Blade starts pushing them big. Christian Mistress is from my area so not much of a draw for me, but I am surprised how much interest they seem to be drawing from folks.

I was on Amazon browsing through some new metal music to buy, and Christian Mistress was in the top 20! Very impressive.

I heard a song on KISW's Metal Shop here, but would really like to see them live! See they are doing a European tour in April.

As time goes by I'm becoming more and more bitter and jaded towards them though. I could be (I hope I am!) totally wrong, they don't appear to really care about their fans too much.

I mean - I bet my bottom dollar they were invited to do 70k but turned it down.

And they are still yet to tour Australia even though they are (relatively) big down here. Their last album made the charts down here FFS. The organiser of the massive touring-festival Soundwave has been trying to get them to Australia for years now without luck too so its not like they haven't been asked.

So yeah - those factors lead me to believe that they aren't exactly the most fan-friendly band in the world.

If China's "Red Cliff" opera is performed on the boat, that would be a guaranteed attendance for me. My strong desire to see that is only offset by my strong desire not to go to China. However, thanks to their cast size, there probably wouldn't be any room on the boat for the rest of us.

Are you hoping for announcements for Barge or 70k?

Since Barge is about 6 weeks earlier than 70k was, then we should have announcements already

But dates for 70k 13 haven't even been announced yet, so hard to think they even started serious negotiations with bands if they can't say which dates would be the ones to book.

I'm sure they have the dates set with RC so that they can start booking, they just haven't announced them yet because they don't like to announce things. :mrgreen:
