that means it is much stronger (more alcohol percentage by volume) than a beer that is not imperial.

for example, a stout can have 5% alcohol by volume, but an imperial stout could have 9% ABV.

imperial pilsners are quite the trend this year, i expect to see many more breweries doing them. however imperial stouts and imperial IPAs (same as double IPAs really) have been around a while!

i usually like my beers with higher ABV, they have a richer fuller palate!

of course i just rated the beer i'm now having, i've been a big beer nerd for a long time but haven't rated since 2007....now back into it!

I don't like drinking beers where I can taste the alcohol. Some imperials are good but some are just too strong, and I'm talking about the overall flavor being too strong, not just the alcohol

I had one too! Wasn't the greatest thing, especially the version with all the chili powder flakes in it. If it was mixed better I would've liked it more. The one I did end up drinking wasn't too bad though. Just didn't taste like anything even close to beer.
