I fully support you in your "Sexual Favors in return for MY DYING BRIDE Booking" thread. :heavydrink:

A word of advice though. As a businessman, I'm not sure how apt Andy is on dipping his company pen into the customer ink. So what you should do is promise these "favors" to Aaron (who reads and monitors the boards if I'm correct). He will surely see it, and then you have an inside person who is motivated to whisper these suggestions into the ear of the man in charge.

Then he is getting hit on 2 fronts. 1 with people wearing a t-shirt with his face on it, another from an employee pushing hard. It's all about squeezing him from as many angles as possible.

Looks like those of you who want Bloodbath can rule them out. http://legacy.roadrunnerrecords.com/blabbermouth.net/news.aspx?mode=Article&newsitemID=172549

Åkerfeldt says they have a new singer but would you all be interested in the band without him? (Edit: Unless it's Peter Tägtgren)

They survived without Swano... they will survive without Mikael. I hope their next singer is Peter that would rule. Peter was always my favorite vocalist of Bloodbath.

The article does say that Bloodbath want to do more and Mikael cannot commit to that. So him leaving means that we might get to see more of this band now... maybe even a proper tour!

Mikael was really just a fill in for the past few releases anyways, as he did not contribute to any of the material, so this is hardly a surprise. If anything it might be a good sign that they want to move forward and do something, so they had to get this announcement out of the way (and probably knew for awhile). This was the original reason he left as well.

Swano returning on guitar would rule, but just don't see that happening.

I did a facebook post that said "Behemoth for Barge to Hell!!" and then added a comment...
"Extreme metal? The dictionary defintion should have Behemoth's picture - 'nuff said." to which Captain Metal said he thought there were plenty of bands more deserving of the textbook definition. To me, it's not really a contest per se, but having seen Behemoth four times now, as well as lots of other bands (including all on my sig list except for Napalm Death and Taake), I'd say Behemoth is way up there (as well as out there  ).

Still wonder if Nergal would want to be on a germy cruise ship (no matter how clean they try to keep them, I've always heard that cruise ships are total germ pools) with tons of fans considering his recent life threatening illness. Don't know enough about the state of one's immune system after such an ordeal. All I know, is that he looked in tip-top form on Friday night. I seem to remember reading that he had gotten very thin and weak during the illness - but on Friday he looked heathy and muscular and all that. (hehe - at least what I could observe considering the big costume, face & body paint. :beerwink: ). One thing I did notice though (because I was right in front), was that he didn't sing certain parts of certain songs (for example the really fast parts of Conquer All (first heard at around 57 seconds on the recording) - his voice kept "playing," but he stepped away from the mic during that part. It wasn't really a detraction for me, just something I noticed. What a great show - wish I could go to other legs of the tour - especially since Watain wasn't at the Chi-town gig.

I seriously feel that there are very few bands that hold a candle to these guys in the "all-around extreme" category - and in particular Nergal - who when I see how "normal" he is in many interviews (especially when he talks about his education, thoughts about religion, travels and such), it is really amazing to me how he channels demons - or at least a demon-like spirit. At the very least, he's an amazing actor. ;)

Off of Metalwrath's list (without listening to any links of bands I don't know), I'd be quite fine with seeing Kalmah, Vreid and Black Messiah

Now that I've decided to on Barge anyway, I'd better try and get some of my wishes granted:

Monstrosity
Paths of Possession
Vintersorg
Trauma
Sacrifice
Impious
Yyrkoon
Sons of Jonathas
Bloodbath
Absu
Exmortem

this goes without saying, but ignore this entire list. Last thing we need is power metal fan recommendations

Meh, Kevin's a dickhead so take his opinions for what they're worth :P

Off of Metalwrath's list (without listening to any links of bands I don't know), I'd be quite fine with seeing Kalmah, Vreid and Black Messiah

Vreid put on a pretty good live set, imo.
4/4

O' grim gods of battle, empower us this night and always,
Anoint us with the crimson rain, forever feed our steel with slaughter...
Let every blow be a killing blow, grant us eternal victory, 'til we die a warrior's death.

...amazing, I saw their first steps in my home town, I'm still surprised though they haven't elevated to the level of Vader :deathmetal:
