Sad to see the Flyers/Pens series end. That was a wild and fun one and got me lots of points in the leagues we have going.

Spent all day looking forward to watching that game on PVR while waiting for Kyoko's late arrival and the puck drop here in Vancouver. Got home to find the damn thing had only recorded the Philly/Pitt game cuz the PVR system doesn't like when the NHL changes programming titles in the guide and cancelled the recording (It probably went from "NHL Playoffs TBA" to team specific) :evil:

Now best defensive teams play each other now in round 2. I will not be so bold as to predict a sweep like I did against Canucks (and almost got it correct). Kings v. Blues can go either way and end in either 4 of 7. I wouldn't be surprised if there were less golas in a whole series than there was average number of goals in Pens-Flyers series each game

Now all I need is Blackhawks to win tonight and I'm 2 for 3 regarding my teams

When the west coast express (Naslund/Bertuzzi/Morrison) had their best chance of winning the cup, they lost a round (2 or 3?) to Colorado and they went on to win.

2 seasons ago, we lost to Chicago in round 2 or 3 and they went on to win.

Last year, we lost to the Bruins in the final.

Canucks have a habit of running into the eventual champs so yeah, I'm predicting L.A.

That said, I think they'll have a real hard time with St. Louis. The winner of that series will take the cup.

But I'm not cheering/pulling for anyone

Should be interesting. Both teams lost both home games against the other this season. Last time Smith and Rinne went against each other it was a 5 - 4 shoot out win to the Preds. It should be a good series that's for sure.

Well Smith is apparently the greatest goalie of all time if that game yesterday is any indicator of reality. Seriously how the fuck it Chicago lose that game? They were making Pheonix look like a peewee team for the first 2 periods.

Chicago badly outplayed Phoenix all series, not just the last game. If Chicago had even passable goaltending, they probably would have moved on.

sadly no the contract extends thru 2022 so it turns out but even tho he get paid 6.7 mill for the next 4 years i think it was he is only worth 5.3 mill to the cap according the TSN intermission guys. but yeah he should head to a less hockey crazy market where he can clear his head. then we have 4 maybe 5 years with Schneider before the Vancouver fans and media destroy him.
