The trip timeframe is Jun 24th - Jul 20th, the trip starts in NY and heads southwest, as you can see from the numbers :)
If anyone here lives nearby, we can meet for a beer or 2

Looks like fun, I don't know anything about the East Coast but have a blast!

When is this happening for real real?

I leave AK May 24. Plan to arrive in ...Falher Alberta for Jeff's gig May 31? I'm not sure on the specifics.
Yep, definitely spending the summer in Edmonton. The plan is to move to Seattle in August provided nothing crazy happens

Um...so it's super complicated and the best I can do is to just visit Edmonton and plan to move to Seattle at the end of the summer. I really can't legally move to Canada without a job offer, and I'm not going to do anything even SLIGHTLY bending the rules because it could ruin any chances I have of going to school there, and potentially ruin any chances of doing a lot of the things I want to do with my academic and professional careers.
Visit Canada for the summer, plan to move to Seattle at the end. One thing at a time.
No one's really out of the loop. This is a recent development.

I thought u got an offer at home depot or something? What if you find a job here while you're visiting?

AlaskaRachel wrote:No, I never got an offer from them.![]()
I don't know what happens if I get a job while I'm visiting. I asked the visa/immigration office what to do in that instance and this was their response:
"If you attempt to enter Canada with the intent to work and you have not already received a work permit, you will be denied entry."
So....fuck it. I'm not looking for work anymore. Legally all I can do is go visit, and thats it. So that's all I plan to do at this point.

If you're sick of all this visa crap I can see if Kate can give you some tips on how to enter a country using less conventional methods. I'm sure she has some connections
