Are you seeing them at Metalfest? They are an interesting band for me - I think they are one of those bands that blur the distinction between "hard rock" and "heavy metal." I often tell people that I didn't get into "metal music" until I started listening to Opeth 7 years ago (because of Steven Wilson - my idol - *sighs* :lol:

). But, there I was in Bergen last summer at (what was largely considered) an extreme metal fest over the course of its 12 year history and I'm seeing a band like Grand Magus whose sound reminds me of a lot of trad rock I listened to in the 70s & early 80s.

It's only rock n roll, but I like, love it, yes I do...

Yep! Yea I used to listen to them on and off a few years ago but ive gotten into them a lot more recently. One of the guys I work with mentioned the same thing about GM. He said it reminded him a lot of the bands he used to listen to in the 80s, which is funny because he usually hates what I listen to. Just another band that doesnt get to the states often, or at all, that I will have the pleasure of seeing at metalfest :shred:

Had a productive day off work today getting lots done around the house - music always makes ordinary chores almost kinda awesome! :lol:

(ok - not really - but better

) Earlier in the day listened to three Ministry albums... early ones including With Sympathy (1983), Land of Rape and Honey (1988), and A Mind is a Terrible Thing to Taste (1989). Awesome. (even though I won't see them until the end of June - getting psyched to see them at long last - it's about time since I bought With Sympathy nearly 30 years ago on vinyl!)

Last hour or so watching.... (man - I love this band soooooo much)

I love that album. I want to say I randomly bought it off of amazon like 6-7 years ago. Not usually a fan of the gothic metals but this is a gem in my books.

Im pretty sure they are from Italy. They have those retarded overly dramatic names but I was surprised by the album.
