After Ghost's set, I noticed the stage crew started to take down Opeth's gear. The started with the drums and then the guitar gear. I was telling my friend that something was wrong. The crew started bringing in amps for Mastodon and setting them up. I thought either Opeth cancelled or they switched spots with Mastodon.
My girlfriend and her friend went to the merch table and talked to one of the workers. They asked why Opeth wasn't playing and the guy told them that Mikael fell out of the bus and hit his head on the door or falling out the door. The guy said that he was fine and was taken to the emergency room for a cut on his head.
The tour manager came on the stage about 20 minutes after that and announced that Mikael was taken to the hospital. Nobody mentioned that he was in a 'car accident'.

"Seriously, I was not in a car crash and I haven't broken my arm. All that happened is I hit my head in MASTODON's tour bus as I was getting a new pair of (red) underwear out from my suitcase.
"Wish the story was more rock and roll, believe me.
"Anyways, I split my head open down to the skullbone and had to be taken to the emergency. They gave me a bunch of shots in the wound, cleaned me up and stapled my head shut with 8 metal staples. Head is sore and if I smile it feels like the wound is gonna burst open again, but I'll be on stage by tomorrow again.
"I feel extremely disappointed that we couldn't play at The Myth in Minneapolis, but paramedics told me I couldn't. We will reschedule the show for our next trip to the USA. So all rumors of me being in a car crash are false. I did crash my head into a car, though, well... a bus, really.
"Sorry for disappointing our fans in Minneapolis but I hope you understand. See you next time."

Haven't heard a word from him, so thought I'd check my house on teh online place for selling of apartments and houses, apparently there will be a showing of my house tomorrow evening, with a set time.
I would have appreciated if he would have asked me about it too...

Wrote him an ameil and told him I want more info more often, lets see if/what his response will be.

This is only the second time in NATO's history that the summit has been held in the United States - so I think it's really cool it's being held here in our great city. With all the massive heightened security (Air Force enforcing the no-fly zone over the city, National Guard, Secret Service, Chicago police, and so on), hopefully there will be no major disasters due to any protesters going beyond their normal right to peaceful protest. Since I work in a large public building in the "Red Zone"(high alert), it will be interesting to see what it's like at work and in the area today & Monday. I plan to check out the rally today at Daley Plaza - Tom Morello (Rage Against the Machine) and others will speak.

Didn't the City of Chicago revoke the assembly license for the Morello speech because of his presence?

There was some back and forth in the past few days about whether or not the rally at Daley Plaza would happen, but it did - and both Tom Morello and I were there! (I was close to the stage about 10 rows back)I saw him another time at a pro-union/pro-worker event (I'm in a union) and he's great at these kinds of things. The rally seemed to go off without a hitch (at least what I could tell) - it was very peaceful. There were some good speeches representing various causes. Tom made a great comment that Chicago is his favorite city in the entire world (he's from the suburb Libertyville) and he would never do anything to harm the city in any way or to incite others to do so. Besides the big crowd at Daley Plaza, the downtown is really quiet - apparently lots of offices are closed due to NATO, so the Loop is much more quiet than usual. There is a *major* presence of Chicago police and Homeland Secuity police, which is kinda creepy. I asked one of the HS cops where they were all from and he said they were brought in from all over the country for this.

I'm moving across town on Saturday and basically starting from scratch, with new furniture, bed, TV, kitchen table, and all that shit, so with all the expenses...
Barge To Hell and 70K 2013 are not gonna happen for BadMetalKitty and I.I think I already mentioned that, but if we go, it will be last minute and a fucking miracle. A co-worker is going to MDF this weekend and keeps smearing it in my face, that bastard.

I applied for a dream job working at Phoenix International Raceway, and didn't get it, but I have an interview tomorrow with a travel agency that deals primarily with cruises, doing inventory control, so I'm really excited about that... except it's a long commute from my new home.
Which is also why I haven't been around here much. I've been focusing so hard on all this stuff, I feel like my social life is gone. One of my best friends and I aren't speaking anymore because I'm too damn busy job searching, shopping for home shit, and working graveyard shift.
Anyway, I hope to see you all very soon... there's that word again.I miss you all, I miss the boat, I miss the Windjammer, I miss the open sea, I miss metal, I miss it all. Fuck my life.
