The guitar trick Rob, the only one I actually cared about landing. Yeah, I knew it was the worst performance I've done out of the 4 I've been in competitions now. I didn't think I'd be that far down but I knew I wouldn't be top 10 so I don't really care what position beyond that. I had fun. Also, I've decided I'm gonna focus a lot more on counterweight style so I'll hopefully do well in the open division at nationals. Everyone from Vancouver is so stupidly good now there's no way I'll get top 10 in the main division again. At least until I move to Vancouver and get a lot better by practicing with all these kids that are 10 times better than me now.

Welcome! And I agree that your English is fine! I have to comment on the fact that you are from near Bayreuth. My parents are huge opera fanatics and in particular those by Richard Wagner. They have been to the Bayreuth Festival and loved it! I'm a fan of many of those operas as well, and would actually like to go someday, but I know it is very difficult to get tickets. I like a lot of different kinds of music, yet my *main* focus for several years now has been metal.

You will absolutely LOVE 70K!! Many of us on the forum were on the first two, and there is really nothing quite like it. Enjoy.

What first got you into metal?
When I was about 16, i went to my first show at Studio One in Newark, NJ. I started out in the NJ/NYC hardcore scene and by the time i was 18, I was introduced to Death. I instantly fell in love... Through out the years, I have come to love many different styles of music.... Death metal still being way at the top.


Play any instruments?
Played the violin when i was younger and just bought a brand spankin new violin. Its the best feeling in the world to be able to play it again.

What first got you into metal?
I listened to Korn since elementary school (not really metal). I started listening to Sevendust in early middle school. In middle school I got the Black Album by Metallica and was hooked. I must've listened to that album for 4 months straight. After that I started to broaden my collection with other Metallica CDs. Around that time, my good friend introduced me to Iced Earth and all I listened to was Iced Earth and Metallica. I ended seeing a Behind the Music on Dave Mustaine and he said he used to trade pot for Iron Maiden albums. I don't know why, but I heeded MegaDave's words and immediately bought Iron Maiden, Number of the Beast, and Powerslave. From there it's history.
