Haven't written on this thread in awhile.... but have enjoyed reading all the posts! (and thanks Bill for starting it!)
A special good luck to Carrie and Rhia on your upcoming interviews!
I've probably said it before on the forum in one way or another, but I really love the fact that we are such a diverse group of people here in so many ways - age, personality, interests, professions, life experiences & perspectives, country of origin, and so on. I think it's always a good thing to expose oneself to many different kinds of people, and I know I've learned a lot from reading all your posts on the forum for more than two years. So -

!
Reading Carrie & Rhia's posts underscored for me how different my job experience/career path/goals have been compared to theirs for example. This August will be my 23rd anniversary as a reference librarian in a specialized arts (visual & performing) department in a major library. I honestly can not think of a single job that I would want to do more (outside of fantasy stuff like rock star a la Doro Pesch or Tarja...or world-reknown professor/lecturer/author of many books -

). So, I plan to stay at my same job indefinitely, well at least another 10 years and maybe longer. I can't tell you how much satisfaction I get when helping people find the information they need using the phenomenal collections we have.... and I learn something (really many things) new every day from the questions people ask/research they are doing. I never wanted to advance to an administrative level (more $), because that would take me away from what I like to do most/why I took the job in the first place! In short, when and if I retire, I'd miss the place terribly....ha.
Besides my full-time job... I do have a number of visual arts/writing projects (some which intersect with my various musical interests from my lifetime to date) I'd like to develop & explore. Most of that would be for personal interest and use per se... But if any of it ends up turning out worthwhile enough in my view, I may pitch the finished product(s) to a wider audience (ha - beyond me, myself, & I). At the moment, however, I'm thinking I may "back burner" that kinda thing until our kids start college (4 & 5 years from now respectively).
