yes, sadly. i would think they'd wanna be more efficient. hey, if i just execute a bloody coup and claim the dictatorship that is rightfully mine, i can skip the rest of these interviews...

Well, i did not get the Director gig. However, i'm ok with that, at least i got some interview practice. The VP lady is on vacation but told me she'd meet with me when she returns to fill me in as to why i wasn't chosen. I am the youngest and least experienced to apply, and perhaps the lowest pay grade, so maybe she thought it was too big of a jump for me. Anyway i'll find out in a couple of weeks. But i'm not sad about it, the stress level was certainly going to be tenfold higher than my current job without a tenfold pay increase, so this could be for the best.

That sucks though, after all the stress and work to go through the whole process. Good that you're fine with it at least. Sometimes in interviews you learn that you don't really want the job that badly (I just went through that).

yeah, the median age here at my company, i hear, is 52 years old. the next 5-10 years will be so full of retirements that I should be able to grab something higher up if i want to do so!
