HA! that is the cheap shit I drank in high school when I didn't have the cash for Michelob (I lived in Texas and micro/craft brew was nonexistent there).

I don't like Stroh or Jägermeister or similar drinks. But if you were to offer some Spanish 70% absinthe... :P

Damn, I always thought Stroh was something of a herb liqueur. Well, not fan of it anyhow. Yes, it is definitely strong, but if high percentage is all that counts I prefer Estonian 80% Saaremaa Vodka any day.

True, a handful of other states too, had it a few times when I was a high school delinquent in Texas. Horrible stuff, if gasoline was intoxicating I would take that over Everclear.

mad dog 20/20 nasty ..... but you gotta love the vapor trails after downing a bottle.

as far as everclear ... very well known in Wisconsin at the 190 proof (used in making apple pie shooters, yum yum)....... but still doesn't beat some of the corn whiskey privately brewed at a full 100 percent alcohol that knocks you out just by sniffing the cork. :givebeer:

I kinda find that 200 proof hard to believe seeing as how after 96.9% its only been known to be used as a chemical solvent in science labs and would eat right through your mouth or esophagus.

but apple pie shooters?! :beerhorns:

Apple Pie Shooters:

2 gallons Apple Cider
6 cups of sugar
2 Apples (cored and sliced - leave peels on)
1/2 gallon Apple juice
10 cinnamon sticks (Keep the empty bottles)

Mix and heat all the ingredients in large pot until steam comes off mixture .... cool to room temprature

Once cooled add
1 fifth of vodka (25.6 oz) (I use smirnoff green apple twist but any vodka will do at any proof)
1 fifth everclear or volkov (25.6 oz) 190 proof
1 pint scotch (16 oz) (i use glenlivet 12 year old single malt) again your choice of scotch may differ

Put a cinnamon stick in each empty bottle
(Dispose of the apple slices .... fermentation will cause an explosion)
Poor mixture in the empty bottles and chill in the refrig. ----- serve as shooters

Makes about 3 gallons

There you go mix and match to your preferred taste ........ this recipe isn't extremely strong or doesn't seem like it when you're drinking it. we drink it by the glass ......... taste just like apple pie (just like mom use to make ha ha) :heavydrink: :givebeer:

Shared yours with a buddy of mine who always raved about his and asked him to send me his if it varied much. Here's his reply for those interested:

Apple pie
1 Gallon Apple Cider
1 Fifth Everclear
6 Cinnamon Stix
6-8 Whole cloves
10-16oz of Honey

Add cider, cinnamon, cloves and honey to a pot. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat and let simmer for 1 hour.Let cool.
Once cooled down, remove cloves and cinnamon stix. I like to wrap the ingredients in a cheese cloth for easy removal. Add everclear. Bottle in any of your favorite containers. You can add a cinnamon stick for a little spice. (Not a fan)
Serve on a hot day over ice. Enjoy

I usually set aside a fifth of it and store in the back of a cabinet I dont use. And I let that sit for 3-6 months. This one I reserve for myself. :P

A lot simpler. But delicious none the less.
