RAIDER fans

Looks like we've got a few Bay Area bands signed up so far: Death Angel, Exodus, Forbidden, Testament.

How many RAIDER fans are on board?

The only similarities between American Football and Euro Football is the name and the number of players on a side. They are nowhere close enough for either one to be a version of the other. American Football is more akin to Rugby which also doesn't have much similarity to Euro Football.

No your stupid version of football is a sissy version of our football. We hit people without people running around with cards. Soccer is what you do with kids with A.D.D. If you have it when your an adult start drinking. Soccer is the only sport that makes tennis almost look masculine.

Ouch!!

The name football is a bit outdated for American football. In the early days of football, kicking the ball was a bigger part of the game but several rule and strategy changes have made kicking a bit of an accessory. The name never changed though.

I'd like to thank Deb's 49ers for embarrassing the Raiders enough to finally play some football. Let's see if they still remember the humiliation to make it 2 wins in a row. Oakland has only put together 2 game win streaks 6 times since the SB year in 2002, and no 3 game win streaks since 2002.

Is it the demise of the franchise? Will they move back to LA? Will Al Davis die? Will there be any Raider fans left to care?

The Raiders need to lose! My Patriots have their 1st round draft pick, and of course, this is the year the Raiders decide to turn things around a little bit. FYI: Al Davis is dead, the team is just making like 'Weekend at Bernies' and pretending he's alive. There are still Raiders fans in the LA area so if they move, LA would make sense. We think we are going to get the Jaguars instead, and as a fan of watching good football, I don't want the Jags.

UhhhHuhhh...? The Raiders need to win! It's a much better league when the Raiders are good. Ditka even says so. It gives 85% of the country something to hate besides Obama and his Fed molesters.

The Patriots need to lose, and, shortly thereafter, just DIE. Their dynasty was born at the Raider's expense with that lame-assed t/f uck rule. I have no idea why Davis with his stapled-on Bernie hairpiece still picks up Kraft's Red Phone but you can take your #1 pick and use it to replace Brady's failing knee.

Well, if Ditka says so..... Still complaining about the tuck rule? Yes, it's a terrible rule, but it's just payback for the Roughing the Passer call in '76. Can't blame the Patriots dynasty for not having a quarterback since. Brady is doing just fine, thank you. We could've used that pick on a running back (Mark Ingram?) if the Raiders would just lose enough. I can't complain too much, we are 5-1, though I have doubts about today's game against the Vikings, Brett Favre or no Brett Favre. Randy Moss (hey, remember him?) is going to be a little bit motivated today, and the Pats have a terrible pass defense.

I'm going to give you the Sugar Bear call. I totally agree. But every NFL fan knows that Oakland in the '70's needed to come out of the decade with a SB win. They were the best team by far over 1970-1979 and it would shame the entire league if they didn't win a championship. MAYBE Grogan and the Patriots deserved it. But DEFINITELY Stabler and the Raiders deserved it.

Bolt_Thrower, let's just call it even then :D . Even with the history, I don't hate on the Raiders. They were actually a team I really liked growing up. I'm too young to have been alive for the Sugar Bear call, but I love bringing it up when people mention the tuck rule. Watching the replay now, it was a terrible call. I also think we got lucky with the tuck rule because that rule makes absolutely no sense. I don't mind having the Raiders respectable again (C'mon! Their fans have the most metal costumes ever!) but I just wish they would wait a year to do it so my team can get a better draft pick. Cheers!

Stingley himself called it a tragic accident. No bad blood there. Tatum could not have pulled up from that hit in time after the ball went sailing past Stingley. It was a clean hit, just an unfortunate event that happens in a physical game.
