Not sure if I have a day break down, but there are differences in how many bands play per day. First day is short, second day is a full day, third day is short (Labadee), then the last day is full.4Horsemen wrote: ↑Tue Dec 11, 2018 4:18 pm *Apologies if this has already been answered in another thread*
For the Survivors out there - how many bands would you say you could see "comfortably" each day? I'm not trying to over-plan, but just trying to get a sense of what is realistic between meals, set changes, hanging out with other metalheads, etc. I know it will be a little different for everyone, but if you could share your experience that would be great.
And please don't do this. Met a guy last year who was bragging that he hadn't taken a shower in 4 days. Dude, we could all tell...trust me.
It happened quite the opposite for me. I was wearing Tommy Bahama's perfume and while waiting for Obscura at the Pyramid Lounge, some chick told another guy "someone here smells fucking good"
I apparently need to stand next to you then, rather than Stanky McArmpit.
Shows start up pretty quickly right after muster drill in the lounge and (as I recall) the Studio B "Ice Rink" stage...I remember having to dash over to see Equilibrium in the ice rink after the meet'n'greet one year.Donutsauce wrote: ↑Fri Dec 14, 2018 8:25 am I seem to remember a late start on the first day last year, which threw my plan out of whack. So I think you're right about not over-planning.
The app really DOES help...but I carry a paper "backup copy" of the schedule with me and I bring highlighters and, of course, a Sharpie. I don't trust all that electronic felgercarb.Schedule changes can happen as well, which they posted at elevators and I think at our door. You may also figure you'd rather see a band's set at a different venue. A crowded pyramid lounge is no place for short folks who really want to watch drummers :-(
I sort of look at the schedule obsessively the whole time anyway. Maybe the app will help this time. Or just a highlighter...
There's a hard copy in your room each day. I tend to use that more than anything else.
