Literally my only hope is that this IS the 2020 megathread..
I thought it was too, but the fact that it isn't pinned says otherwise :(PotatoPotahto wrote: ↑Wed Aug 07, 2019 3:17 pmLiterally my only hope is that this IS the 2020 megathread..
I wouldn't be at all surprised if he can pin posts after the fact. Last year he was changing post titles with each announcement and I don't think that was possible before the big redesign either, no?
i thought so
To be fair, I don't think Andy has ever posted a Days/Months countdown post unless it was in the megathread, so so this is probably just an unorthodox start, and the first announcement will probably be tomorrow.
I bloody hope so!ExtraneouS wrote: ↑Wed Aug 07, 2019 4:17 pmTo be fair, I don't think Andy has ever posted a Days/Months countdown post unless it was in the megathread, so so this is probably just an unorthodox start, and the first announcement will probably be tomorrow.
Pretty please? Not that I’m biased or anything...
Not true, at least not this year. Countdowns have been posted on separate stand-alone threads, to which nobody repliesExtraneouS wrote: ↑Wed Aug 07, 2019 4:17 pmTo be fair, I don't think Andy has ever posted a Days/Months countdown post unless it was in the megathread
Double checked, this isn't actually true. He posted saying their hotline was now in three languages on April 12, on June 24th about Heavy Montreal, and that's it.cegr80 wrote: ↑Thu Aug 08, 2019 8:53 amNot true, at least not this year. And they should already have their visas and stuff in order, since they're playing here (Atlanta) later this year.
What makes you say that?Phoenix wrote: ↑Thu Aug 08, 2019 11:50 amThat being said, if we don't see an announcement in another *checks watch* three hours, we're not getting one for a week or two.cegr80 wrote: ↑Thu Aug 08, 2019 8:53 amNot true, at least not this year. Intuition based on last year's abrupt announcement.

Edit: slightly different steps may be required depending on whatever Skin is being used.
This can most certainly become a pinned thread / the Megathread.

The post, Mason, what does it mean?!
Hard to imagine them getting through 3 rounds of bookings before 9/25 if they don’t start until 9/1.cowboy71 wrote: ↑Thu Aug 08, 2019 5:24 pm Maybe now that he has broken the record for shortest amount of days between first band announcement and sailing, Skipper wants to break another record.
Latest point in the year for first band announcement!
So maybe 1st of September for first bands - which coincidently is also my birthday, so that would be a nice present :)
I could picture every UMC employee running screaming from the building if they were forced into that !!!Downvod wrote: ↑Thu Aug 08, 2019 8:01 pmHard to imagine them getting through 3 rounds of bookings before 9/25 if they don’t start until 9/1.cowboy71 wrote: ↑Thu Aug 08, 2019 5:24 pm Maybe now that he has broken the record for shortest amount of days between first band announcement and sailing, Skipper wants to break another record.

It's stated in the FAQ that 'tickets purchased after Sept 29 2019 will have to be paid in full' so yes we're sure.alex_canada wrote: ↑Fri Aug 09, 2019 11:14 am Do we even know for sure if the payment plan is still around? If I was Andy and saw that a minority of cruisers used it, I'd just scrap it since it's extra work involved. And then people who pay upfront don't have a discount. Gives umc less work and more money this way.
All tickets to be paid in full? Well, THAT should keep the tourists away.
Sep. 25th is the deadlinePotatoPotahto wrote: ↑Fri Aug 09, 2019 11:50 amIt's stated in the FAQ that 'tickets purchased after Sept 29 2019 will have to be paid in full' so yes we're sure.alex_canada wrote: ↑Fri Aug 09, 2019 11:14 am Do we even know for sure if the payment plan is still around? Yep - 43 days to cutoff. Really not leaving a lot of time for announcements - gap - booking for golds - gap - booking for silvers - gap - booking for general public - cutoff.
Statsman! If we got our announcement today, how long would each survivor tier have to book until the next tier opened, assuming they followed a similar timeline/structure as previous years?cowboy71 wrote: ↑Mon Aug 12, 2019 3:17 pmYep - 43 days to cutoff. For bookings made up to September 25, 2019 you may choose to Pay in Full at the time of booking or in four easy monthly installments. For the installment plan, you pay a deposit of 25% of the Grand Total Ticket Price at the time of booking and then three additional monthly installments of 25% of the Grand Total Ticket Price 1 month, 2 months, and 3 months from the date of booking. Bookings made after September 25, 2019 must be paid in full at the time of booking.
Last year there were 3 weeks between survivor booking opening, and the cutoff for the 4-payment-plan. I think that is a fairly logical timeframe, so lets keep that to start with.PotatoPotahto wrote: ↑Mon Aug 12, 2019 3:42 pm Statsman! I hope I worded that right
