Demons & Wizards would be worth all the waiting. I'm not happy about missing them when they played a mere 9-hour drive from my house last week.

I am predicting a combined BG/IE/DW as the first announcement, before Tuesday.
If that’s the case, DW won’t get 75mn, either it will be 2x60, or 1x90mn as a special show.

I've got nothing against Demons and Wizards, but if that is the ultimate excuse to delay announcements
and booking codes, based on just as they finish their tour, than I think it's the most pathetic excuse in 10 yrs of boat.
Living 9, 331 miles away from Miami, I sweat on announcements. If codes were sent out in July, my cabin would be hundreds of $ cheaper. Grr!
Our US/AU exchange is shithouse right now. The longer this goes on and on, the more expensive it is for us out this way.
I would love to see D & W on broad, but...this better not to be bloody reason.
I'm already at volcanic lava about to spew into the air rage levels here.

The good news if I’m right (which I am most certainly *not* - never have been -) is that it would mean less power/speed bands (since this cup is already full, to attract fans).
And since this year was 25% death, this would mean more thrash and black/blackened next year (BEHEMOTH as the third pseudo-headliner?), which would make me happy, even though I’m not going (well, I could always forego my December vacation week, if Baphomet demands it).

I’m at ProgPower right now and I want to ask D&W if they have anything in their contract about other shows being announced after the N.A. completes, but I doubt they can reveal that. As much as I love them, I’ll be kind of pissed if that’s what the holdup was.

So, when I went to the Demons & Wizards signing I told Jon Schaffer that I knew he couldn’t say one way or another, but that I’m hoping they’ll be on 70k this year and he flat out said “no, we definitely won’t be doing it this year, but maybe someday.” I mean, he could be just saying that to cover himself, but I just don’t see him doing that either.

I think it’ll happen. Royal Caribbean still has a gap for Independence from Jan 7-11.

That said, I’m hoping people will be pissed enough about this that the late as fuck announcements won’t happen in future years. I doubt I’ll be going in 2021 cause the cruise always falls close to my birthday and I want to do 2 weeks in Australia for my birthday.

It’s actually a good sign that they didn’t post that. Those posts are mainly to distract us when they have nothing else to tell us. Hopefully they have been relatively quiet lately because they are gearing up to give us something useful.

If there is to be a cruise with a 4-payment plan at all, we HAVE to hear something really SOOOOOON.

Will it be a huge pile of bands announced all at once, or will it be the usual dribs and drabs?

With the amount of outright disgust (especially on Facebook, yipes) at the lack of announcements this year, it really NEEDS to be the former, with some huge names to get people back into the fold.

Hrmm, I am legit pretty surprised. I was feeling pretty confidant that it was D&W's exclusion clause that was driving the delay. Now, at this point, this is weird as heck. No point in getting upset as it will be what it will be, but this is very weird. More time for me to find a cabin crew, I guess.

I was so pumped for this return after a 4 yr absence.
The dates are perfect for me.
But with ZERO action. Speculation.
The outrage on the farcebook forum and time running out.

I believe we only had 5 bands above 1M monthly Spotify listeners: SABATON (1.6), NIGHTWISH (1.3), AMON AMARTH (1.1), ANTHRAX (1.0), APOCALYPTICA (1.0).
Even ACCEPT only has 800,000. HELLOWEEN has almost a million.
I think this year we’re going to get a millionaire again.
GOJIRA has 1M, so that would be my guess for the first announcement, since the first band is usually new to the ship.

GHOST, KILLSWITCH ENGAGE and TRIVIUM are also possibilities, since they cost the same as GOJIRA (according to https://www.celebritytalent.net/samplet ... l+&search=), and GOJIRA was booked before.

It’s shocking that BETWEEN THE BURIED AND ME costs the same as LAMB OF GOD (about two GOJIRAs), even though they have almost 10 times less Spotify listeners.

My new prediction is September 14th, because it’s two weeks later than last year (which doesn’t sound *too* bad, if you forget the fact the we sail 3 weeks earlier), and 10 days (assuming booking opens one day later) for booking seems like just barely enough.
So I expect a warning shot on Friday, and the first announcement Saturday morning.

GOJIRA is still my candidate, because Andy knows that GHOST, KILLSWITCH ENGAGE or TRIVIUM wouldn’t be popular here as a first announcement.
LAMB OF GOD is a far outside chance.

Edit: LAMB OF GOD is playing the Megacruise, so forget them.
