I’ve seen a lot more people desperate for booking codes than people quitting in anger. I don’t think they are going to have an issue selling out.
The wait list happened immediately after public sales opened. "Sold out" just means it's impossible to buy tickets or change hands anymore.
Correct. 70k can really mark it sold out whenever they choose. The previous 2 years have had waiting lists, but don't forget 2017 and earlier. Available (and very expensive) cabins would seemingly disappear in the final days before the cruise and it would be suddenly 'sold out.' Even if we don't get a waiting list this year, it's bound to get that sold out tag posted sooner or later.
I bet this is from them filling some of the expensive rooms with people on single tickets. An empty room is worse than one where you don't get full priceDownvod wrote: ↑Mon Sep 23, 2019 7:19 amCorrect. 70k can really mark it sold out whenever they choose. That's not how it works - they're trying to sell 3,000 tickets for the highest amount of revenue possible. An empty room means absolutely nothing - the capacity of the boat is based on lifeboats, not rooms available for sale. 4 people in a quad with 2 empty suites is the same as 2 people each in 2 suites that they have been upgraded to, in terms of revenue and boat capacity, so there really isn't any incentive to do that. The total people capacity of the rooms, in quad-ticket layouts, is dramatically higher than the maximum passenger capacity of the boat.Iconix wrote: ↑Mon Sep 23, 2019 10:27 amI bet this is from them filling some of the expensive rooms with people on single tickets. Concur.
I'd accept a "waiting list only" post from UMC as a de facto "sold out" post. It basically means the same thing, except that it really IS sold out.
Yeah, I don’t know if there was an actual post made, but I still have a message from them about being put on the waitlist for the 2019 cruise. I wasn’t actually going, but more curious if it sold out.
Agreed - not surprisingly nothing sold out yet Probably only 25-30 quality as black this year, and there has been a couple that have said they are not returning.
Same thing happened last couple of years ,I think they are releasing cabins like concerts release tickets. Not every cabin is available for sale in the beginning.
Or, people are running multiple browser windows trying to book different cabins, and the "reserved for 20 minutes" cabins become available again when the time expires.deathmetalpat wrote: ↑Tue Oct 22, 2019 10:23 amSame thing happened last couple of years ,I think they are releasing cabins like concerts release tickets. Not every cabin is available for sale in the beginning.
Yup, this. I knew it, too. That's why I feel less bad about bowing out.

(didn't realize there where so many other sextuple groups out there) so i swear if sextuple rooms come out on silver booking I'll loose my shit, so i had to book a quad, and my roommates will have to get a double on silver, and i have been on hold on the phone now for 1HR39 min
Ouch. A few times last night with all the crashing etc, I would get in and the cabin I was after was 'gone' (I was after a specific triple that there are only a few of).mindgrind wrote: ↑Tue Oct 22, 2019 3:50 pmupdate- been on hold for 5hrs37 min guess I'm gonna hang up now...how cruel....mindgrind wrote: ↑Tue Oct 22, 2019 11:50 am well i was in at 12:12 and all sextuple rooms where gone.
