Didn’t we have one of the classic rock cruises just after us one year?
Where did you hear that? Any explanation? (Honestly curious)
Yeah mbob would love to know if you have more information on that because I too have heard that (and it may have just been via a previous post of yours), but I would love to know if you know any further details.
Because if this is indeed the case, it would rule the INDY out for a Superb Owl weekend cruise next year (as the Bowl is on the 7th, so a Superbowl sunday 70K would have to be Feb 4-8). AND if this IS the case, it could explain why no word on boat or dates yet!
@Godflesh - I looked at past cruise calendars and couldn't find any instance of a music charter leaving immediately after 70K.
I have been following Carnival and Royal Caribbean for a long time, my family loves to cruise. While I have never received confirmation from someone in the know I have never seen a cruise line offer back-to-back large scale music cruises.
It would be a logistical nightmare for the cruise line to be unloading all of that gear from 1 music cruise while attempting to load the gear for another and be able to depart on time. Plus, the crew needs to rest and the ship needs to be cleaned.
While I guess they could do back-to-back if they wanted to I have never seen it done.
Here is Indy's schedule for Jan & Feb 2021...
Jan 2 - Jan 7: 5 Night Cruise, no 70K
Jan 7 - Jan 11: 4 Night Cruise, RCCL is selling cabins for this date, though they will cancel if the boat gets chartered.
Jan 11 - Jan 16: 5 Night Cruise, no 70K
Jan 16 - Jan 24: 8 Night Cruise, The SuperCruise XIV
Jan 25 - Jan 30: 5 Night Cruise, no 70K
Jan 30 - Feb 4: 4 Night Cruise, KLOVE Christian Music Cruise
Feb 4 - Feb 8: 4 Night Cruise, RCCL is selling cabins for this date, though they will cancel if the boat gets chartered.
Feb 8 - Feb 13: 5 Night Cruise, this cruise is not listed on their schedule so it has most likely been chartered. I am guessing this might be Monsters of Rock though can't confirm that.
Feb 13 - Feb 18: 5 Night Cruise, no 70K
Feb 18 - Feb 22: 4 Night Cruise, Rock Legends
Feb 22 - Feb 27: 5 Night Cruise, no 70K
Feb 27 - Mar 4: 5 Night Cruise, no 70K
Based on the fact 70K is a 4 night cruise there are only 2 open dates, Jan 7 & Feb 4; however, Feb 4 is right after another music cruise with the possibility of one following it so that date is unlikely.
I know you would prefer to have "official" confirmation but my logic is pretty sound based on history.
