My last gig was Kamelot in London last March :( I haven't been to a gig for ages due to living pretty close to the breadline for such a long time now.

I saw Job for a Cowboy on gigantour here in 2008. I don't recall them being awful but I left that show a huge new High On Fire fan so I guess it depends on your tastes. Check out their myspace page or something and see if their sound appeals to ya.

I heard it's supposed to be a very different show each night and that it's like half live music and half comedy theatre with lots of visuals and stuff? Would you recommend it as good entertainment value or just a bizarre spectacle?

Saw Kreator Friday night with Kataklysm, Evile, Lazarus A.D. and another band but that I missed as I was running late. Evile appealed to me the least of the 4 I saw but all band put on tight sets and the sound was great. Some idiot(s) in the balcony insisted on throwing at least one full can of beer or pop at each band and someone threw one from right up front during Kreator soundcheck and one of the roadies singled him out and sent him to the side of the stage. Thought he was gonna beat the crap out of him but I guess he just got in his face and told him to smarten the fuck up. Couldn't see exactly what happened. Why do people insist on throwing shit at musicians on stage? They can't see it coming, they're up there concentrating on their performance and, apparently, the person paid money to get in and see them. Defies all logic to me. I can understand if the band is ridiculously horrible that someone with no regard for other people might do it but several times per night during every band of a 5 band bill? People freakin' baffle me.

Next gig, Overkill, Vader, God Dethroned, Evile and Warbringer in about 3 1/2 weeks at the Red Room.

Job for a Cowboy are a "death metal" Myspace band (one can say who isn't these days). But anyways, they are totally unoriginal and something that somehow got popular (like Trvium) against all good logic and reason.

As a black metal fan I would assume you're not into any of the typical death metal bands, so JFAC should detest you highly.

Although I don't like to judge bands harshly, I gotta agree with you on Job for a Cowboy. I just don't see the appeal.

I would definitely recommend it. I only went to one of the shows and I wish I had gone to both. We had a country theme (I know sounds really lame), but it was so damn hilarious! It was like watching a play, had a story line and commercials it was awesome. Probably the most entertaining "concert" I'd ever seen.

Who knows what else may pop up, this is SoCal after all!

    Later this Summer

July ---- Scorpions (retirement tour) w/ Cinderella (haven't seen those guys since '87)

Aug --- RUSH!!!!!!!!!!!! This will be Collin's (my 13 year old son) first show. I wonder if he has any idea how EPIC it is to see this legend as your first gig? What a great Dad this kid has {pats self on back}...

My last gig was Moonsorrow & Fintroll at this tiny venue Thee Parkside in San Francisco (4/24). Tiny and hot. Sweat was literally dripping off the ceiling. Amazing.

Next is Goatwhore at another small place this time Blue Lagoon in Santa Cruz (5/25)

Lucky to live in the Bay Area CA... we get some decent shows through here (though really nothing compared to Europe)

Next up is KISS, also in Glasgow.

I took my son to see Iron Maiden for his first show when he was 12 on the Somewhere Back in Time tour, I don't think he blinked the entire show. He is now a die hard Maiden fan. Even if your son is not a Rush fan, he WILL be by the end of the show. I'm going to see Rush in Chicago in July, will be my 4th time.

Yeah, he is actually REALLY looking forward to it. He has watched the Snakes and Arrows Blu Ray 4 or 5 times with me, so I think he kinda has an idea of what to expect. There is nothing comparable to hearing a stage amplified kick drum for the first time though, He digs Maiden too, so I will definitely take him to see them (although not this time around unfortunately).

Start 'em right and start 'em young! :headbanger:

And, as everybody ELSE here already knows, Europe is a continent and not a country. It also happens to be a band as well. So think before you speak genius (you know who you are)[/quote]

LOL!!! Is Africa also a country?

Saw Metallica last month. And just for shits and giggles, the next band I'm gonna see will more than likely be Europe  If not Europe, maybe Kiss or ACDC, or maybe Keep of Kalessin :metalguy:

    Hmmmmm.....lemme see...
Matt Camacho and I saw Sacred Reich, Flotsam and Jetsam and more on February 20th of this year....It was a benefit show for the daughter of Nino Notaro (long time soundman for Sepultura)

I saw Flogging Molly on St Patricks Day out here as the very last show (These guys are a bunch-o-fun!!)

The next show I have planned (since it was canceled in January because of Tom Areya having to get back surgery.....too many years of mega headbangin!) is Slayer, Megadeth, and Testament Aug 27th.

Although any thing can happen between now and then! I am seriously thinking about flying out and catching Heathen in June, as they will be back from their tour in Europe and I just miss those guys...and maybe catch Exodus while Im out there since they are playing the night after...(I think I learned of that one from Vainglory? a couple weeks back)

Last gig was Bullet [http://www.myspace.com/bulletsweden] at a small club here in town. Next will be Sonisphere, august 7, in Stockholm with Maiden, Slayer, Mötley crue, Anthrax and Alice Cooper. After that Sabaton in October. Will be taking it easy and save money for the cruise!

We wanna go too!!! We went last year, but this year the tickets sold out before we had a chance to buy them. If you know someone with two tickets who aren't able to make it, let me know!
