Bring on the Flyers! Bruins need to avenge last year's collapse. We would currently be playing the Rangers who scare me just a little bit only because Henrik Lundqvist is good enough to steal a couple of games on his own. Can't ever get overconfident against a team with a great goalie. Luckily, Tim Thomas has all but locked up the Vezina this season, so he's in top form.

Whoa! The Bruins/Canadiens rivalry is going to be heated up even more after that hit by Chara. It'll be interesting to see if the league acts on it.

Bruins were atrocious in that game, one that they really should have shown up for, given the very tight race in the East right now. Man, I fucking hate losing to Montreal.

Edit: For the record, I know I'm a massive homer but that I don't think was a suspendable offense. Just unfortunate that the hit happened where it did.

Haven't seen it on tv but just watched one crappy youtube clip of it and it just looks like a bad place to take a normal hit. Many guys have been run into those areas near the benches over the years and it's awful to see but, from the angle I saw at least, it didn't look like Chara ran him into it at all. If anything, it looked like he held up and just the guy's momentum and being off balance led him into it. I hope he's alright as the clip just showed the training staff working on him on the ice then cut off.

*edit* - Well, a couple different angles and I have to change my tune a little. Chara didn't let up like I first thought and did finish his check quite late in a part of the ice that is known to be quite dangerous. I suspect you'll lose your boy for 3 - 5 games my friend.

If Chara was such a "clean" player, he wouldn't have slashed Pacioretty in the back of the leg in their last meeting... or perhaps also in the last game they played against each other, that boarding call wouldn't have erupted into a full-on brawl between both teams! Discipline or not, you can bet your bottom dollar he's gonna have a bounty on his Lurch ass in the next meeting.

Here you go man. Chara can say what he wants about intent, but with the score 4-0, I'm positive he was looking to hurt somebody. Pacioretty just gave chase, but the defenseman was already back there. He had no reason to finish the check... just let him go. It would've made no difference if Pacioretty crossed into the zone or not.
March 24 might be a bloodbath... at least it better be. Watch little Scotty Gomez whip Chara's ass.

And for the record Mooyagi, I'm not a Bruins hater, I like the Bruins, I just dislike Chara, and I can't see how people can say he's a "clean" player. I put him in the same catagory as McSorley, Bertuzzi, Brashear, and Modano. All of 'em cheap shottin' mother effers.

It's tough to truly tell in slow motion but that reverse angle to me looks like Chara had time to hold up on the check before sending him into the corner. At normal speed (would love a normal speed reverse angle view) it looks almost like he was trying to check him into the small sliver of boards there, but even that is a dumb idea. Regardless of intent, a normal league would certainly suspend him for that hit, but this is the NHL.

Doesn't matter to me if you hate the B's! My teams get plenty of hate on this forum (well, one certainly does ). Definitely cooler that you like them though.

I'm curious to see who it is that goes after Chara in the next game. One thing that might make it less of a bloodbath than it could be: That game could have some pretty big playoff implications because the race at the top of the Eastern Conference is very tight.
