There is certainly no 1 right answer in the least.

I love my Jackson V, but also have a Solar guitar with an Evertune that is awesome on so many levels. The Solar is my go to when I don’t need a floating bridge. The Jackson when I need the tremolo system.

I have an LTD V that is also pretty sweet, but it has a neck dive issue, but it still sounds great.

There are many awesome main stream and small brands that make awesome guitars.

I'll stir up some shit and maybe get the conversation going with some potential controversy and say that the absolute worst brand of guitar for metal is Fender. Simply because their most popular models all have only single coil pickups and most metal players tend to spend most their time playing with some combination of dual coil humbuckers or a single and a double etc.

Fender disdain aside, it's really not about brand. It's about tone, quality and playability.

You could get an $8000.00 Gibson Les Paul but if the neck is fucked, so will your playing be.

You could get a $200.00 knock off guitar that plays quite well but if all the parts are poorly made and assembled, you could run into problems over time.

But then, this applies to all music, not just metal. So I guess that has little to do with your post.

Now that I fully understand your question, I'm convinced that the answer you seek is here
So far at least, 2011, 2012 & 2015 were enough for me

it entirely depends on how much money you want to spend. I'm very happy with my collection of Jackson, Ibanez, and Schechter guitars. I don't have a guitar that costs over $2000 though. :shred:

Not sure of the exact model, I bought it used. The head stock says N931, but I can’t seem to see that referenced any where online.

It’s got active EMG pickups, a Floyd Rose Bridge and is a nicely balanced guitar, unlike my LTD with the same spec (lots of neck dive)
