So Tucson will get to see a bit of Hayton. He's allowed to go to the AHL on a conditioning stint, which is what the Coyotes have done. Of course they're on the road during this time so we won't get to see him in person.

On a lighter note, you can slow down in the HTC group any time ya like there brother. Starting to think I may have to just pack it in until the real battle starts in the spring :headbanger:

No lead is safe since they introduced those stupid-ass bonus points.

Agreed. No clue what they were thinking with that feature. Totally undermines the original concept and structure of the game. Overall winners now ultimately based on random element of whether or not players got lucky and happened to perform well on days when on ice hat tricks took place. Just dumb.

If they wanted to attach interest to on-ice hat tricks, they should have just added a fourth question for every day asking, "Will there be an on-ice hat trick today?" If you check NO and are right, you get an extra HT. If you check YES and are right, you get 3 extra HTs. Most people would put NO most days since hat tricks aren't that common. Still dumb but at least this would add an element of skill to the selection along with additional risk/reward to the process.

Yeah, you got a comfy cushion now. Mike was out of town for over a week and didn't make a single pick so that helped ya too. I got a triple last night but then Nuux got the same one or I'd be in 2nd all alone. Need some big luck in the home stretch.

Glad Canucks nabbed Tofoli but, as usual, Benning way overpaid :(

You had to know there was some happy campers up here in Canuckville during that one.

But it's all about the playoffs and yer guys were at the tail end of 3 in 4 on the road so we're under no illusions about the big picture haha.

What's yer recollection of Louis Domingue when he was in Arizona? I know his numbers weren't too hot during his stint there but was it just his play or was the team a bit soft on D at the time? He seems to have been quite strong when he was with Tampa

He was a capable backup for the Coyotes, with stretches of very good and very bad play. Trouble came if he had to play too many games, which was a given with Mike Smith's injury history. He was really bad by the end of his time in Arizona. Those Coyotes teams were not very good. They actually overachieved given the rosters. Seemed like he was a bit of a hothead but I haven't followed his career much since he moved on other than noticing him bouncing between the NHL and AHL.

Thanks man. Sounds pretty much like what I'd gathered from the mixed reviews that have followed him here and his numbers. Apparently he's matured out of some of the emotional antics so we're hopeful he'll improve under the tutelage of Ian Clark here much like other goalies have of late.

Very happy that Demko had a strong outing and got the OT W in Mtl on his first game following Markstrom's injury. Our decent year could go South in a hurry if he folded under the pressure and Markstrom didn't return quickly. We've been chatting up here all year about the wonderful problem of having 2 great goalies and speculating on how Bennning's gonna deal with that in the off season but this is the exact scenario that justifies it so long as Demko can continue his strong backup play in the starter role. Pacific is a freaking dog fight so am looking forward to some great games in the stretch drive. So grateful to actually have our boys in the conversation again after a long drought :boobs:

Hey Mooragi... have you seen any option in the brackets challenge yet to actually enter any picks?

I keep refreshing and can see that you and I both are in the group but can't see any way to start making bracket selections :bitch:

No apparent offering of HTC picks or anything related there yet either

The brackets are not available to fill out until after the play-in round is complete. Still a week to go so hopefully the hat trick picks will populate soon. maybe they're waiting to make sure every player makes it to the bubble first.

For some reason I pictured the play-ins being included in the brackets but yeah, makes sense that they're separate.

HTC is up and it looks like the group has indeed carried over. Even the points from the shortened regular season are still showing.

Feels just as good getting one on day two by predicting a Boston loss

Would've got back to backs too if it weren't for Kane's empty netter late in game one getting called back for offside haha

I'm guessing they're gonna reset us all to zero after this play-in and round robin stuff once the best of sevens start. Can't see anyone catching you in the next week

You still have a chance if you score some bonus hat tricks this weekend.

My advice for Toronto and Columbus, don't go up by 3 goals.

Flyers and Canes look good in the East, Avs and Knights look good out West. Bruins looking rough. They have one more round robin game to get back into it before the stuff that matters starts. :?

It's wild here to see the Coyotes actually sneak into the playoffs. Exciting times.

    Bubble hockey rules!

Don't worry. Pretty sure they're gonna reset after tomorrow's games tidies up the regular season battle

      Good Luck and Have Fun!

Had Kane's empty netter on night one not been reversed due to that miniscule offside, I'd be one point back of you going into final games tomorrow haha. Hope someone gets an on ice HT tomorrow so I can at least potentially tie you for HTs. No chance of catching ya in points for tiebreaker though. Was a good battle :headbanger:

      Bubble hockey rules!
I can kinda say the same for our Canucks. Technically, we were in when the season stopped but who knows what the last 1/4 season would've brought? Wild put up a good battle in game 1 and our goalie nearly crapped the bed in game 4 but the boys bailed him out. They still owe him many more haha

Can't wait for 'real' playoffs to start! Hoping Dallas beats the Blues tomorrow so we have to go through the defending champs.

      Go big or go home!

I have zero confidence in my selections based on how the play in round went.

Hat Trick Challenge President's Trophy again! :deathhorns: As is tradition, now I will suck in the playoffs.

I went 6 of 8 in the play-in round (this one started 2 weeks ago https://fantasy.sportsnet.ca/sportsnet/ ... fbracket20 ) but only picked the correct number of games in 3 of 8. Good enough for 51st overall so in good position to move up if my next round goes well.

70th overall in this one too https://fantasy.sportsnet.ca/sportsnet/hkplayoff20 but no clue who to pick for my next round lineup. A few of these matchups could easily go either way with lots of goals or reasonably few.

No easy route there for either team but it's starting to feel like there could be the makings of some 2011 redemption on the ice in this bizarro year we're all going through together :headbanger:

 Really though, you must feel positive about your team's future. Lots of young talent, a seemingly competent coach and a nice looking goalie situation, even if Markstrom walks.

Bruins are looking at maybe one more run with their core. Krejci and Bergeron are getting older and more banged up. There's some good young talent but the pipeline is pretty bare compared to other franchises. Chara wants to come back but he's 43 and a bit of a nightmare when he has to do anything with the puck. He's just good at getting in the way. Probably losing Krug as he's looking for much more money than what he should be getting. Tuukka has hinted that he may call it a career early, after his contract ends next season, but that's of course subject to change.

As for the Coyotes, send help.

Definitely excited for seasons to come. Got a couple more young gems coming up next season too so this short off-season will likely see a number of interesting moves to deal with cap and UFAs etc

Boston has enjoyed quite a stretch of great lineups so it will be interesting to see what happens there. Chara could probably play on any teams bottom pairing for another decade lol

      FFS Ryan!

I get a HT and am part of only 7% of the field to get one and you get one too!

      :bitch: :bitch: :bitch:

How the hell am I supposed to make up ground when you pull that crap?

      Damn

Aside from that... WAY TO GO Hoppy!! 3 of us getting into such a small % of the field is actually really cool and I don't feel so bad since seeing you got all 3 as well. Hat Trick for the the 70K HTC crew on a night when most were wrong! :headbanger: :beerbang:
