I think at this point, the only port I'd bother leaving the ship for is Turks just to see what all the hype was about. Hopefully that's not where 2026 redirects to, since the chances of me being onbroad are extremely slim right now.

Grand Turk (the island, as opposed to Turks & Caicos, the country) is my favorite port of all, but I can totally see where people's miles would vary.

If you like a nice, relaxing beach day with free access to the largest Margaritaville (and pool) in the Caribbean, and a safe, no-hassle island where the vendors don't bother you, then Grand Turk is a great place. The beach is literally 2-300 feet from the ship. (Do NOT jump off the ship and swim for shore, however. It's been done and it ended badly. )

If you like snorkeling, the aforementioned beach is a great place, with depths down to 15 feet and objects to see (cannon, anchor, etc.) Freedivers can dive deeper since the dredged "pocket" where the ships come in has the depth drop off quickly to 40 feet. (I've made it down and back once...with fins.)
It's also a world-renowned destination for scuba, with "The Wall," an underwater cliff amazingly close to shore where the depth plunges from 40 feet to over 7,000 feet.

It's a small island, about 4,500 population. When one ship docks, the population doubles. Two ships, it triples. The LAST thing the locals want is any sort of problems or crime involving visitors.

BUT... Regarding history and culture? Not so much. There are a few sights over in Cockburn Town (let's all giggle together; it's pronounced "Coburn Town" but don't tell Andy), and there's the lighthouse on the northern tip. John Glenn and the Friendship 7 capsule were recovered near Grand Turk and there is a commemorative display.

I like the place a lot, and at one time I wanted to retire there (a furnished house was only US$115,000 back then), but for history and culture seekers, it is not ideal.

Nifty. I've been on almost every class of cruise vessel Carnival has, but never on the Splendor. She is unique, literally a class all to herself.

I'd expect Hellbound to cost a little more as they'd be crazy not to get some decent internationals to fill out the lineup, who will no doubt cost a bit more than the artists on Rock The Boat cost

Also think they would be wise NOT to include drinks packages for a metal cruise but lets hope they are not that wise

Why would anybody do a festival with such early band announcements?! It’s far more sensible to wait until the last minute to announce half the lineup.

Yeah… I agree. I’m sure Hellbound has its audience, but it’s not for me. Reliqa is pretty cool, but I don’t see myself going to Australia to watch one band on a boat. Props to them for posting their full lineup, though. I hope they’re successful.

Or you could always go the other route that sometimes happens to fests, does really well, books "bigger and better" acts. Doesn't do as well now that they've lost their very specific appeal.

I remember an interview where Andy mentioned potentially having a sister cruise out of Canada. Vancouver, if I'm not mistaken.

Problem with a cruise FROM Canada, is where would it sail TO?

I'm guessing most Canadian cruises would cruise to American cities, thus kinda not being ideal for obvious reasons.
