Claim the Throne from Perth
(Unless there is another Claim the Throne, I wasn't on that year so it's possible I grabbed the wrong band with the same name)
Claim the Throne from Perth
Nah absolutely correct - the lads and lass from Claim the Throne were already in the US for a tour IIRC, and were literally going to be cruisers on 70k ANYWAY, so begged and pleaded and got to play :)MuzakMaker wrote: ↑Tue Jan 24, 2023 1:56 pmClaim the Throne from Perth

Ne Obliviscaris played in 2019, they're AussiesMuzakMaker wrote: ↑Tue Jan 24, 2023 1:56 pmClaim the Throne from Perth

Yes, but this was specifically about the FIRST time a country was represented on boarddws515 wrote: ↑Tue Jan 24, 2023 2:29 pmNe Obliviscaris played in 2019, they're AussiesMuzakMaker wrote: ↑Tue Jan 24, 2023 1:56 pmClaim the Throne from Perth

I think that just adds to the point that Oz has been represented before.MuzakMaker wrote: ↑Tue Jan 24, 2023 2:33 pmYes, but this was specifically about the FIRST time a country was represented on boarddws515 wrote: ↑Tue Jan 24, 2023 2:29 pmNe Obliviscaris played in 2019, they're AussiesMuzakMaker wrote: ↑Tue Jan 24, 2023 1:56 pm

And it guarantees that Be'lakor will NOT be announced in the following trifecta. I think Andy's messing with my head and will announce it as the 60th bandtoby wrote: ↑Tue Jan 24, 2023 2:46 pmI think that just adds to the point that Oz has been represented before.MuzakMaker wrote: ↑Tue Jan 24, 2023 2:33 pmYes, but this was specifically about the FIRST time a country was represented on board
So Tunisia (definitely a chance), Taiwan (would be a nice surprise) and Romania (definitely none so far!).
Does French Polynesia count for France in Andy's mind? Because we need Te Ruki also.
Mongolia? ABSOLUTELY possible.
I know it would make a lot of us happy. Seems to be one of those band that always is on lots of wish lists.cegr80 wrote: ↑Tue Jan 24, 2023 4:07 pmAnd it guarantees that Be'lakor will NOT be announced in the following trifecta. I would love so much to be wrong, but I don’t think the low cabin sales and high cost of travel from Australia make this a likely year for us to finally see Be’lakor. It would be like $13k in flights along for the whole band to come over.toby wrote: ↑Tue Jan 24, 2023 5:04 pmI know it would make a lot of us happy. I think they would need to be a 'we're doing a US (or south american) tour conveniently around the time of 70K' band. They are doing a lot of Euro fests this year but nothing US that I know of.
Those five appearances, including Brutal Assault where I am finally catching them, are super tight. Like, every other day or socowboy71 wrote: ↑Tue Jan 24, 2023 5:26 pmWhich makes me wonder out of curiosity - I wonder how that works for an Australian band? They are doing 5 festivals in Europe at the start of August. Does one festival pay for their flights and the others just are 'lucky'? Does the band pay for the flights out of their appearance fee for all the festivals? I guess I'll never know
I would assume the band is paying their fare and the festivals are splitting the costs through guarantees/appearance fees.cowboy71 wrote: ↑Tue Jan 24, 2023 5:26 pmI think they would need to be a 'we're doing a US (or south american) tour conveniently around the time of 70K' band. And I was saying it's irrelevant to the point at hand.toby wrote: ↑Tue Jan 24, 2023 2:46 pmI think that just adds to the point that Oz has been represented before.MuzakMaker wrote: ↑Tue Jan 24, 2023 2:33 pmYes, but this was specifically about the FIRST time a country was represented on board
The last 2 cruises has the 60th band in a 3 pack. We know 2020 had 2 more announcements, but 2019 did not. Might be a big name, but also might not. Who knows?
Skiltron is great Folk Metal with bagpipes that's always a party onboard, actually they are now radicated in UK. The Last one should be The Halo Effect
Maybe. Hypocrisy are playing a fest in Denmark on the 4th. So it does leave enough time to get there.
Agreed on 61 or 62 bands. Havok would be awesome but they were on in 2020 and Andy appears to be applying the back to back rule for the 2020 bands.
If there was doubt as to where the first was from, it just shows that there was at least 1 other is all I'm saying.MuzakMaker wrote: ↑Tue Jan 24, 2023 10:41 pmAnd I was saying it's irrelevant to the point at hand.toby wrote: ↑Tue Jan 24, 2023 2:46 pmI think that just adds to the point that Oz has been represented before.MuzakMaker wrote: ↑Tue Jan 24, 2023 2:33 pm

It's just as useful as saying, well it can't be Tankard because we had Kreator on in 2018.
Meh. Nothing worth my attention...Andy wrote: ↑Wed Jan 25, 2023 12:40 am And now we have three bands representing three different genres of metal from three different countries where we never had Artists from before. Please welcome:
NUCLEAR from Chile
SIGHT OF EMPTINESS from Costa Rica
and
SKILTRON from Argentina
