lol, I mentioned this exact thing during my radio show this past Friday. It was a fun 70k retrospective broadcast.
It certainly counts. It's also no guarantee because we've had multiple situations of bands having to cancel but never return (so far).
Might be a good lineup then.
In the words of George Fisher-- err, Nathan Explosion, "Br00tal."

Cavaleras are on tour late summer/fall after re-recording a couple Sepultura albums.Metalhead_80s wrote: ↑Fri Apr 21, 2023 7:25 pm In a recent interview, Andy confirmed that a "latin" band would be filming a live concert/DVD on board.
Maybe he meant latino?
Not really "latino", but from South America...Sepultura/Cavalera bros?!
Since Angra will be recording their Pool Deck set, they're most likely to bring some guestscowboy71 wrote: ↑Sat Feb 11, 2023 4:32 pm Well we sucked this year Only got about 2 right! DO BETTER, RUMORMONGERS!
I'll start with a couple I heard on boat.
AMARANTHE - Have apparently said they've been asked for 2024
ANNIHILATOR - LONG overdue for a return
NILE - drummer has apparently said he'll be doing a drum clinic on 70K in 2023
SALTATIO MORTIS - Allegedly got asked very last minute for 2023 and had to say no
Doro seems more at home on Monsters of Rock cruise these days sadly :( And I'm not sure Andy would view Tarja as "heavy" enough for 70k.Mr.Kito wrote: ↑Thu May 25, 2023 10:42 am Since Angra will be recording their Pool Deck set, they're most likely to bring some guests
And they have a history of calling Tarja onstage, so why wouldn't Andy book her band since she could already be onboard?
Also, Angra has recent songs featuring Alissa and Doro, so Arch Enemy and Doro are names that could come strong on speculations

Arch Enemy, while not that well liked by many, would be a solid chance though.
I guess by "latin band" Andy meant Brazilian for the live album? Unless we have two live albums filmed on board
But Brazil is considered Latin America, since we speak portuguese and the language comes from latin origins and we are in South America... so 99% sure Andy meant AngraMuzakMaker wrote: ↑Sat May 27, 2023 6:10 amI guess by "latin band" Andy meant Brazilian for the live album? (I have no idea what consists of latin America anymore that one always seems to have different definitions depending on what country you're from)
Latin America is basically Central and South America. Basically starting at Mexico and continuing 'down'. Spanish and Portuguese are both Romance languages.MuzakMaker wrote: ↑Sat May 27, 2023 6:10 amI guess by "latin band" Andy meant Brazilian for the live album? I don't disagree, but last cruise when I called Brazil a latin American country DMs got flooded by Brazilians saying it wasn't so I've completely given up on claiming anything with any certaintytoby wrote: ↑Sat May 27, 2023 7:31 amLatin America is basically Central and South America. They're not a Hispanic country. Maybe something was lost in translation. lolMuzakMaker wrote: ↑Sat May 27, 2023 8:12 amI don't disagree, but last cruise when I called Brazil a latin American country DMs got flooded by Brazilians saying it wasn't so I've completely given up on claiming anything with any certaintytoby wrote: ↑Sat May 27, 2023 7:31 amLatin America is basically Central and South America. Maybe that was the case, or maybe you were just a victim of some ignorant internet people, we know there are plenty out there from bascially every nation lol... but as I brazilian, I know Brazil is in Latin America. Latin America is basically every country in America with latin languages, like portuguese, spanish and french, so almost every country from Central and South America plus Mexico (as far as I know, Guyana and Suriname are also considered Latin America, but they don't speak latin languages.. but that's something else to be discussed in another forum )toby wrote: ↑Sat May 27, 2023 8:32 amThey're not a Hispanic country. That cruise appears to sail in Europe, though. Might not be an issue for exclusivity purposes.MuzakMaker wrote: ↑Thu Jun 08, 2023 8:22 am Things just got interesting.
Amaranthe (one that has had rumblings of being on this year prior to even 2023's boat sailing) has now just been announced for Full Metal Cruise. Let's see how long that exclusivity lasts for a band with that specific amount of selling power (afterall, they were a first ten band when they last sailed)
Talking with an artist who sailed in the past few cruises one of the initial terms their management brought to them was "no cruise festivals". Now whether that was a label, management, or 70K clause who knows.toby wrote: ↑Thu Jun 08, 2023 9:26 amThat cruise appears to sail in Europe, though. I assume there was a time period there also? Appears to be ~130 days between the end of that sailing and start of 70K.MuzakMaker wrote: ↑Thu Jun 08, 2023 10:24 amTalking with an artist who sailed in the past few cruises one of the initial terms their management brought to them was "no cruise festivals". If Amaranthe does indeed get to sail it does give us at least a benchmark for "not completely out of the picture"
I assume so yes. This is always the "fun" part because even if they didn't get announced, that doesn't mean it's because of FMC. Could be any of the other couple dozen reasons why a band doesn't do 70Ktoby wrote: ↑Thu Jun 08, 2023 10:34 amI assume there was a time period there also? I told you so Statsman didn't even have faith in me and add it to the predictions...
I fixed it
