Freedom, Independence, and Liberty are the same class, and while max capacity isn't identical, they're also not sufficiently different enough to be significant
Correct. Since 2015, we’ve been on 3 separate Freedom class ships. They have small, insignificant differences in cabin counts, but the guest amount is still going to maintain around 3,000 or so people. This is not a downsize.DrinkMoxie wrote: ↑Sat Feb 03, 2024 11:03 amFreedom, Independence, and Liberty are the same class, and while max capacity isn't identical, they're also not sufficiently different enough to be significant
Is the room layout the same as Freedom? We really liked our cabin for the last 2 years and would love to have the same one again.Downvod wrote: ↑Sat Feb 03, 2024 6:06 pmCorrect. The vast majority should be the same, with some exceptions here or there. You can find deck plans for all of the ships online if you want to verify a specific cabin.sflheadbanger wrote: ↑Sat Feb 03, 2024 8:52 pmIs the room layout the same as Freedom? Look on cruisedeckplans.com to find a really good layout of the two side by side (if you open two windows). From what I recall, there are some slight differences here and there since they were refreshed (or Amplified as RC called it) at different times.sflheadbanger wrote: ↑Sat Feb 03, 2024 8:52 pmIs the room layout the same as Freedom? Yeah I enjoy the Mon-Fri cruises because if I/we want to do the trip as short as possible so as not to miss too much work and/or school, we can fly out on a Thur/Fri, have the weekend to prepare, do the cruise then return home on the friday arriving on the Sunday - miss maybe 5 or 6 days tops of work.cegr80 wrote: ↑Sun Feb 04, 2024 5:38 pm I truly don't care what ship we use as long as it's a similar class. A better class would be too expensive and unsustainable for 70K.
I'm curious to visit Jamaica next year. It will be a new destination for me.
I also noticed the boat dates fall again from Thursday to Monday. I preferred Monday to Friday, to be honest.
Mon-Fri is best for me as well. Still wind up taking 5 days of vacation either way and getting 9 days instead of 7 (and potentially more if I get BoatSars) is great.cowboy71 wrote: ↑Sun Feb 04, 2024 6:34 pmYeah I enjoy the Mon-Fri cruises because if I/we want to do the trip as short as possible so as not to miss too much work and/or school, we can fly out on a Thur/Fri, have the weekend to prepare, do the cruise then return home on the friday arriving on the Sunday - miss maybe 5 or 6 days tops of work.cegr80 wrote: ↑Sun Feb 04, 2024 5:38 pm I truly don't care what ship we use as long as it's a similar class. HAHAHAHAHAHA boat does that to you (both the 'still moving' and 'damn i need to go next year now' thing).Phoenix wrote: ↑Mon Feb 05, 2024 11:13 am Well, my boat spouse and I were SUPPOSED to be out for 2025 for Japan-related reasons, but now he's telling me that he wants to go again next year.
That said, I'm STILL feeling the ship moving, so maybe I'll have to reconsider future ship-related adventures. We'll see.
Ah that's a shame - glad I finally took the opportunity to sample the mexican this year!! And yes "fish n SHIPS" I believe its called.
I never got to play the minigolf course on Freedom, but it looked WAY more fun... I also never got to ride the waterslide, but I don't recall Independence having one at all (could have been upgraded?)cowboy71 wrote: ↑Tue Feb 06, 2024 2:32 amAh that's a shame - glad I finally took the opportunity to sample the mexican this year!! Also - I think looking at the deck plans, the Indy has an Escape Room (cannot remember if it was open when we sailed last) that Freedom does not?
EDIT - furthermore, unless its changed, I think/hope the arcade is better than the Freedom. Took my boy to the arcade this year and it was ATTROCIOUS. Like the only "arcade machines" there were LITERALLY games that you play on your mobile phone when you are bored, like fruit ninja.
At least (if I'm remembering right) the arcade on Indy had a Guitar Hero, and a few sitdown racing machines.
Yeah Indy got upgraded a few years ago, so does have waterslides :)DrinkMoxie wrote: ↑Tue Feb 06, 2024 5:11 am I never got to play the minigolf course on Freedom, but it looked WAY more fun... On Freedom, it was just an open room with some hangout space, I believe. I know some of the gang from the Discord met up there a couple times.
If you have been coming all this time then you surely know andy does consider the combined wishlists. Some bands are simply impossible to book due to a myriad of reasons
